This is the new centerpiece in the main room of our home.

I researched this TV alot before taking the plunge and purchasing a few monthes back. I like to try and get the best technology available at the time and hold on to it for a while. This was a replacement for one of the first 1080i projection units from many years back that served me well.
I needed more space, and they do not get any slimmer than this current 8000 series LED TV. I of course have to hang it on the wall like a picture with the Samsumg mount, and then run all the cables through the wall to the AV devices to give the floating look to the display. All aspects of this were fairly straight foward. I wish the power and connections were closer together, i had to run separate chases for the signal and power connections.
Setup was pretty easy, and all devices worked well once I got it figured out that the cable box had to connect directly, and could not run thrughthe receiver. With the audio return channel, it still peforms fine on the cable box. Wireless setup was easy, and glad for the "N" connection as streaming 3D is bandwidth intensive. DVD playback is excellent connected to a 5500 Samsung 3D blu-ray player.
Overall, the picture is of course just incredible, and the many extra features are impressive.
i have two gripes with this TV, the first being the lack of APP support for Amazon streaming service. This is available on 2010 models, and should still be available on these new units.
The second problem is with some LED light bleed I expericene on the lower left of the display during dark senses in that area. I'd hope that a unit of this level of price and performance would not have an issue like this, but have read that it is an known issue with LED units, and does not really have a good fix at this point.

I'm a tech geek and this set is the "Creme de la creme" in it's class. Worth every penny.

Nothing more to say but u get what u pay for.. Best in the market and ofcourse its Samsung that we are working with here so yea blown away.. Samsung is just off the chain!!! Slapping up Apple n all!!!

TV is sleek, cool, and shows a great bright picture. The ultra-slim design makes me wonder how such great sound can come out of such a small unit! It has a very simple user-friendly interface and the 3d capabilities and qualities surpass the other TVs I researched.
