I have owned my new Samsung for just over 2 weeks now, and I am still in awe at the quality of the picture. The 3D on this screen is far superior to the 3D in movie theaters. The WiFi connection is amazing also, to be able to use the Netflix app to watch movies in HD is great.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, digital optical audio output
I would recommend this to a friend!

I really like this TV. The picture is very clear and crisp. I can get internet radio on the smart hub. I used the wall mounting kit to mount it on the wall like a picture. I would recommend getting the sound bar for better sound.
I normally don't write reviews, but after making this purchase I just had to. I know everyone had problems from time to time with products not functioning correctly, I would blame that on manufacturing not the product itself, but anyway this LED TV is flat out awesome!!! every aspect of this product is hands down unbeatable. Best TV ever, The price is what it is... and if you can afford it... it IS worth it
I could never imagined a tv this flawless!! I read some negative reviews on cnet about dark around the edges and issues with un-uniform picture quality. All false!!! There are no issues at all. I highly recommend this tv. Even my HDTV channels on a coaxial type digital box look like i'm watch blue ray. Love it!!!
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, perfect picture quality, amazing color, 2d options for anything is great
Cons: absolutely nothing wrong
I would recommend this to a friend!

Don't buy if you have an XBOX 360 or PS3!

The TV is great, however it fails completely for gaming. I use an HDMI cable from my xbox to the TV and the lag is definitely noticeable. This problem stems not from the output of the xbox (which is at 1080p), but from the tv attempting to enhance the image. So far I have not been able to find a game mode on this model, nor any setting adjustments related to the enhancing. I would not recommend this if you wish to use a gaming console with it.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, too long to process/enhance picture
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought the UN55D8000 which was just installed. The pictures from a Blu Ray disc give you the sense you are there watching the actual filming. The picture on standard DVDs are substantially improved. HiDef channels are also incredible. Can't imagine a TV with a better picture. Controls are easy to work with, although the online "e-manual" is cumbersome to work with when you want to change/modify features. Unit actually looks smaller than the 50" plasma it replaced.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
I would recommend this to a friend!

Honest Review a person who knows his electronics pretty well. I like samsung... i really do. Replaced my old 52 LCD(which looks REALLY good still) for this new technology 55 inch LED TV. So here goes.
Pros: 1- Picture looks awesome, a LITTLE better than my LN526000 LCD (which was a awesome TV BTW) 2- TV is SLIM 3- Small border gives it a better physcial look and overall better esthetics. SWEET LOOKING TV... really. 4- Lightweight hangs on samsung slim wall mount fine.
Cons: First listed means what I hate about it most to what I hate about it the least. 1- When streaming from server to TV, does not play through the receiver. I should have known this Meaning you only get to listen to whatever your playing through the TV. (TV speakers sound pretty good, but whats the point of having surround sound if it doesn't take advantage of the full 5.1 or 7.1 sound in Dolby or Tru HD) Serious entertainment system people beware this is a KILLER. =( 2- Wireless streaming from Samsung PC share software source is VERY limited. Only plays AVI, WMV, and DIVX far as I know. Does not play MPEG 2, or MKV (which is HD video aka BLURAY quality). So basically we can't stream BluRay quality videos without converting it. (whos gonna wanna do that every time if they even can) 3- You HAVE/MUST/NEED Samsungs PC SHARE MANAGER software to use the all share to view most of the stuff on your computer. I tried the default sample videos from windows and it played 1 of 2 without using the windows default server. Nothing streamed through Tversity worked through the tv, so I had to use samsungs pc share software. (through the TV) 4- The controller is ugly and when using the qwerty side the buttons are really small and annoying. I'm 5'8 BTW 140LBS. Hate to see how bigger people with snicker size fingers deal with it. Hitting the light button turns the lights on for about 1 second... if you hold the light button the light stays on. ( I dont like having to hold a light button down for light) 5- Had to turn in a voucher for my 3D glasses that would work with my TV. (new technology which is better b/c its bluetooth.) Voucher says 10-12 weeks. That means up to 3 MONTHS... without 3D viewing. (1 quarter of a year). Should have came in the box... not sure why they didn't do this. 6- Power cord is very short like 4 feet. Should have been like 8-10 feet IMO.
My personal OVERALL opinion: I'm keeping the TV b/c it's 3D and I feel like it's still a good tv that "I CAN MAKE" do what I want to do through OTHER hardware... but why should I have too if those features are what I'm paying for? Picture looks very good, but not even $1000 worth better than my 52 LCD from Samsung.
VERY expensive TV with limited new features. I'm hoping the new 3D bluray player that has allshare will push the signal through my receiver (which it should) so I can get surround sound while streaming. Will probably be limited to samsungs pc share software, so I'll end up using Tversity through my PS3 still for connecting pc content, which offers more playable formats, but still not MKV.
The PC share software offered by Samsung needs to be easier to find (had to google pc share manager software) and should offer A LOT more if not all types of files to be playable. ESPECIALLY MKV... we wanna stream in High Def...
In the end if I wanted to recommend a system to a friend or family, I'd tell them to get an older model (C series) 3D tv, if they wanted 3D. If not than a D6000 series for 2D. (Great value for the money) Would recommend a PS3 for basic (not 3D) bluray and for streaming in which you would still get 5.1 or 7.1 surround and more playable video formats through free software, or a Samsung 3D bluray with allshare capability that would do the same but with 3D with limited video formats for streaming.
I love samsung. I just wish they did more for the new technology. Seems like a waste we have the means to provide such freedom, utility, and advance technology in a TV, but to limit that technology or handicap it imo is such a waste. If you can't go all out with something, don't go at all.
