Great Printer But....

Just started using this inkjet on a regular basis! Works very well! However, I have two problems with it. It might not be a problem for someone else but for me it is. The printer is set up to be used in a fax mode position. When printing a copy I must press the copy key and number of copies I want a few times before it will accept it. After wards I have to sequence the pages so they will be in the right order. Otherwise copies are very clear and readable.

Falls short of perfect

Paper jams are frequent. Upon examining the system I find the sheet in laying inside not engaged by the pick up rollers. There is plenty of paper in the tray. Image quality does not seem brilliant or sharp. I am switching to a 26 pound high quality paper to see if it improves the feed and the image quality. It might be an issue with the paper.

Pretty Good Product

I am a small business owner and having a printing solution that actually works is vital. I have had many other brands of printers that just didn't work. I bought this brother because they have a quality name in the industry, and I now know why. This printer works, was easy to install, and is fast.
A couple of issues I have with the printer could easily be fixed. Sometimes when printing wirelessly pages will only print a small section of data and move on to the next, and the machine is not space friendly.
If you are looking for a reliable work horse this will do the job!

Nothing Better on the Market for the Price

A good functional business use product.
Will do what you need and more.
Color Printer Quality is the only negative, prints are lack luster.
Speed is good, duplex good, duel paper trays good.
The best Large Format machine for the price on the market. You can find cheaper, you can find better printing, but you can't find the versatility this machine offers.
Performs better than expected.

MFC-J6710DW - Awesome printer

Although large, what else would on expect of a machine that prints/copies 11 X17. No hiccups whatsoever - network, copy, print quality great and seems to be easy on the ink.

Not worth your money

I've owned this printer for about a year and a half and it started printing with a very low quality. I replaced all of the cartridges and had the same results- text that was printing at 30% of tone with lines missing. Trying to work with Brother to get it resolved was not worth my time. They claimed their ink was unique and they wouldn't talk to me until all of my cartridges were replaced with their brand, regardless that the main black cartridge was brother Ink and all I print is black and white. My MFC-J6710DW is going to find its way into the dumpster and I'll be shopping for a replacement. HP has been more supportive in the past.

Nice All-In-One Printer

I bought this MFC-J6710DW because I wanted the large format paper handling (11"x17") and the auto-duplexing feature. Haven't used the fax features, don't really need them.
Pros:
-menus are easy to follow
-wireless works well
-two seperate paper trays
-large photocopying surface (up to 13"x19")
-decent print speeds
-auto duplex
-nice software features
Cons:
-It's huge!
-paper tray system is awkard when adding paper
-to use envelopes you have to remove all paper
and reset sliding arms to letter size.
-goes through ink pretty quickly
-has had a few paper jams
-scanner resolution is only 1200dpi max
Overall, I am satisfied with this printer and it has been working well. I'll be trying to use the larger capacity ink cartridges LC79, to see if I can get better ink life. My yellow cartridge is nearly empty after printing about 150 pages with mixed text and graphics, plus about 15 photos. The other color cartridges are down to around 30% level. The black cartridge is at about 45%. These were the cartridges that came with the printer which are the low capacity type LC75.
