Disappointing

Control panel usability non-intuitive
Color quality drab
Use of second paper tray very difficult with some applications
Paper path prone to jamming, especially on duplex
Paper pickup from top tray marginal
If I did not need 11 X 17 capability, I would have returned it to seller many times.

I had the previous incarnation of this machine and loved it. I truly love the printing and scanning quality of this new generation but the paper path is bulky, clunky, loud and jams WAY TOO OFTEN!
I want to love it, but that prevents me from doing so. Also, I broke off the paper stop within the first two weeks and it no longer fits right so my paper either gums up or hits the floor. THAT is my fault but the jams are not. The paper trays need some work and the feeder slot should not be in the back.
Other than that, it is a great printer and scanner.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A very fine machine. I particularly like its wireless feature. But the other features I like; 11 X 17 print size capability, individual color cartridges, (No. more disposing of tri-color cartridges because ONE COLOR is empty.), and I LOVE its multi-function features. For some reason, COLOR copies come out lighter than the originals. (Possibly the type of paper used.) And like ALL modern electronic devices, the instructions are HARD to understand! (At least this printe came with detailed instructions!)
I would recommend this to a friend!

Too difficult to setup

I have been happy with my other Brother Printer (HL-5340D), therefor I bought the MFC-J671DW mainly to use the scanner and print 11"x17".
But I have not been able to set it up and I dread calling Brother technical help. So my new printer is just sitting there Idle. I would love to return it.
I found the manual too confusing to follow.

Great but wish...

I really like my MFC-J6710DW. Good print quality and quantity. Fast enough. My only problem, which I didn't realize before I bought it but would not have prevented me from buying, is that it does not scan two sided paper. I have to print a copy of the back side of everything first and then scan the whole document. Machine should scan both sides without my having to copy half of it first.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have been very happy with the ease of set up, functioning and performance of the MFC-J6710DW. I do wish there was some way to know when the paper trays were getting low -i.e. some outside visibility or signal.
this is my first Brother printer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This product is great as a printer, but as a copier leaves much to be desired.
There is a long delay between copies, and I have yet to be able to copy on legal size because I cannot seem to be able to get beyond the letter size tray. Have not been able to figure that one out yet.
Top-notch printer though!
I would recommend this to a friend!
