Horrible Printer
on January 15, 2013

Poor quality for color printing - really bad colors, resolution is poor. The paper feed is an endless nightmare. Having used HP printers for years, but thinking that the large format was something I could use, I switched to Brother. I want my money back but that's not going to happen! HP is in my future for sure.

Overall Good Scanner, printer

This replaces a couple of older pieces of equipment. I'm quite please with the performance ofthe copy, scan and print functions. I've not had paper jams which were frequent with my HP. If I have any complaint, it is that the color is not very vivid, but there may be some ink saving feature that I am not aware of and It has not been worth calling Brother about it. This has saved me a lot of time and hassle. Scanner and copy features work very well.

This unit is just plain AWESOME! I love the Android and iPhone app. Now we can print from our phones and tablets without having to boot up a PC!

Great Printer

I am a semi-professional/retired still working photographer, designer, editor, etc. and found this printer to be one of the best I ever purchased. The features like tabloid printing, oversized scanner platter, two trays plus rear paper input, and the overall color controls make this almost the perfect printer. And the wireless printing capabilities are really the cat's meow. I did have some issues setting up the printer (wireless network and color/quality overrides) but Brother customer service was excellent and had my issues resolved in no time.

Paper trays leave a lot to be desired.

Let me start out by letting you know that I am a professional printer repair technician with over 20 years experience. This printer is a decent printer for the price. The color is outstanding and the dual trays and document feeder that are capable of 11x17 pages are a great selling point. However, while the paper trays DO adjust to fit 11x17,if they are extended out that far, they are extremely flexible and twist out of shape easily. They need to be made from a sturdier plastic that will stay square, otherwise, the ledger size paper doesn't feed consistently. If you put ledger paper in the bottom tray, it won't feed at all.

Good But No Cigar!

Brother's MFC-J6710DW printer is a fine printer in most respects with one very irritating flaw: The envelope printing format is unusable. The return address margins are much too great to be graphically correct. So if you want to print envelopes another printer must be used. The MFC-J6710DW takes up a lot of desk space and having to add another printer for envelopes makes the work station difficult to manage. On the other hand, the printing (particularly duplex) is flawless.

A Great Printer

I had to replace my Brother MFC 6490cw after it died after 4 years of great service. Saved money buying it at staples. They had it on sale. No problems yet, like the duplex feature. Button scanning is a little of a pain but now I am good with it. Ink is Inexpensive. I don't use the fax do to no phone line in office. It would be nice to fax via internet instead of paying for a service.

Works great. No issues so far. The only issue I have is that it sorts from the last page to the first page. If I didn't have write so much it won't have been an issue.
