Economical feature packed printer

I am not an excitable person but, I must say I am quite pleased with this MFC. For the price, it is good quality feature packed MFC. First off, this printer's print quality is very good. Along with regular and duplex printing, photos are as good a quality as any other photo printer I have used and much better than color laser printers. My most favorite function is nework scanning PDF formats into my Paperport software. The ink cartridges last a long time. I expecially like being able to replace individual colors as opposed to one more expensive multicolor cartridges. The FAX works as it should however, I prefer to us my PC FAX since it stores a copy of my faxes. On the down side, only the printer is support using Windows server print service. And only the printer works in Windows 8. No scanning.

Issues with printer

I have yet to get the correct color on items that I have printed other than black. I called and asked to have someone "connect" to my printer and set it up correctly and after 4 months, I have not been contacted to help me.

Mixed Feelings

This is my first Brother printer and the print quality is very good. The ability to print 11 x 17 and the separate color carts were the deciding factor in purchasing the Brother. I have had a problem losing contact every few days with my computer and have had numerous conversations with tech support to try and solve this. Tech support has been very attentive and plesant to deal with but the problem persists.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Like the fact that it prints 11 x 17 in since I print a lot of maps for reports. Don't like the high number of paper misfeeds.

I have owned other printers but this is the first Brother printer I have ever owned. I bought this printer on a recommendation from a friend. Printer works great in black and white or color. Very good printer and easy to use.

Could have been better

My excitement at the initial successes with this printer was soon replaced with frustration due to numerous paper feeding problems. It will not feed my Quicken checks properly, failing to handle a single check without taping it to a full sheet of paper, and then manually feeding it in. Envelopes can only be feed one at a time through the manual rear feed. It's better than some but could use some improvement with its paper handling.
