I have bought a lot of printers before, most recently Epson. Not happy, the inks cost a lot and very minimal output of prints. I bought the MFC J6710DW (a refurbished one) and works like a gem and comes with the two year warranty. Not needing the Wi-Fi, just hooked directly and off and running. No problems what's so ever. Loving it, for the price I paid, it comes with a large scanner, 11x17 and 8.5x11 prints dual tray and can copy a stack of papers automatically, so much more. What a convenience. I am very happy with my purchase. Brother has a printer to suite your needs. I would say just check them out.

Great Purchase

This printer is easy to set up, Printing is easy from both front trays and from back feeder. The colors are very good.
The scanner is great when you need to scan large size documents. The auto feed section works well and doesn't jam when feeding multiple sheets. I would recommend this printer with a need for scanning and printing large documents.

Good Features

The larger scan feature on this printer is excellent. We wish there were even more printer choices/sizes in larger scanners.
The trays are good sized and the cost of printing is not as expensive as with some printers. The ink seems to last a long time
The only down side I have found so far (which is also important) is that the quality of the print is not very good. We use the printing only for drafts and light printing. The back to back print feature works well. Printing is a bit slow but works fine.
The printer is also a bit bulky but worth the extra size for the larger scanning and good sized paper tray. The dual paper tray is a helpful feature.
Overall, a good serviceable 3 in 1 printer (I use primarily to scan) that would be terrific with some improved printing capabilities.

Things have changed since I have been usng this bryjer printer, It dose everything That I ask for and maybe a whole lot more I'm still learning on it.

After a lot of research i decided to purchase this printer. Since then I have been the printing queen. I love this machine!!! The only draw backs are its size and that it really does not print picture perfect pictures.

durable printer

very durable. uses very little ink. Ink lasts a long time compared to other brands of printers. reasonably priced consumables. The only thing missing on this printer that I hope Brother adds in the future, is an automatic duplex copier like HP printers have. And to make it clear, I am no fan of HP printers.

Solid Workhorse

This is my second Brother multi-function machine and I am pleased with it's performance and features for the price. I use this machine as an office photcopier and printer, to be used in printing non-photo types of B&W and color documents. I also use the machine extensively to produce 11x17 sized documents and to create PDF files of any size. The machine is sensibly constructed and easy to use.
Things that could be improved:
The color printing could be better. Whenever I photocopy a single sheet off of the plate, the machine needs to pause and "spin it's gears" for a short period of time, requiring the user to wait in between each page that you want to photocopy.
