Best Brother Printer I Ever Purchased

This is my sixth Brother printer and it is as reliable and economical as all the others I have purchased. If you want to save on ink, then any Brother printer will be your best purchase. This printer, though, by far is the most economical printer I have ever owned. I have printed 1000s of pages and have only changed the cartridges once. I use the high yield LC79 cartridges which have proven to be the most cost effective. The print quality is excellent; photos are brilliant and clear. I downloaded the iPrint and Scan app for my andriod phone and tablet and it works wonderfully. I bought this printer specifically because it prints on both sides of the paper (duplex printing) and because I can use 11x17 paper. The enlarge and shrink functions for copies is very useful and the wireless scan feature is a time saver. This is a totally affordable wireless, multifunction printer that does everything any small business can want.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Slow and Paper Jams!

I use this printer about two to three times per week, very low volume, mostly for letters and envelopes. The printer is slow and almost always jams when I manually feed single envelopes. I have become extremely frustrated with this printer considering how little I use it and how frequently it jams! The duplex printing does work well though.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We have used many different multi-function printers and have found the MFC6710DW with its duplex and wide format abilities to be the best thus far. Very little maintenance, easy to use and the single sheet feed is great for the thicker stiffer photo type papers.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Large format and network friendly

I have been very pleased with this printer/scanner. I need to work with 11"x17" format and this scanner works very well for that. The large format also works well for scanning multiple smaller documents at once and then split each document out as needed. The printing has been fast and reliable. Ink is also reasonably priced compared to competitors.
Brother does a very good job making their MFC printers true network capable printers. The print server is in the printer so unlike "networkable" printers from other manufactures I do not have to connect the printer to a Window's computer to be able to print via the network. I run Linux, Mac, and Windows desktops and can print using the network printing from each of them.
I have also been very impressed with the printer administration features provided in this device. It has a lot of enterprise level features available to make remote administration of this device a joy. I would definitely be willing to use this printer in a small office environment.

Excellent value

I basically wanted to be able to scan larger drawings and the 11x17 capabilities of this definitely fit the bill!!! I don't think there's any printer/scanner in the same price range that does 11 x 17 ... the fax feature is icing on the cake, basically I wanted a scanner, but I like the fact that it has all these other features!!!

Almost worst printer ever purchased

I've been reading all the glowing reviews about this same model and wonder how my could be so lousy. To start it pulls multiple sheets of paper and prints a portion of each print across them all. The manual feed recognizes a sheet of card stock some times for 5 prints in a row then it won't recognize the card stock and I have to keep pulling it out and re-feeding it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good but could be better

I primarily use this printer for 11x17 prints which it does beautifully. Unfortunately, you cannot print color pictures with this printer. No matter what I have tried I always have lines in the picture.

Great all in one

This all in one machine is spectacular overall. It is easy to use if you read the directions. Customer support is great to help you over the technical issues if you have any. I would buy again next time. To improve the next generation: A faster print would be nice. Allow a default for copy size other than ledger would also be nice. It is easy to change but I forget to do it sometimes.
