Great tablet, despite my issues with it.

I really like the tablet, but I do have two major issues. When I am booting it up, it will get to the login screen, then reboot itself. After that everything is fine. The second issue is trying to power the unit on. Some times I have to hold the power button down for over a minute before it will boot up.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: does not have an hdmi out port, charges very very slowly

Galaxy Note 2014 edition

To day I have received two Galaxy Note 10.1 White 32 GB 2014 edition and both had defects. The first one had instabilities within its software making it unable to connect to the Samsung Apps or Hub without an error. Three factory resets later and still the issue remained unresolved.
Samsung Tech said to return it and get a replacement since it was fresh out of package rather than RMA it. First device had a red blemish on the top of it, absolutely no charge to it, and locked up after the first thirty minutes.
Second device received had loose speaker plates, a scratched silver bezel, and was extremely hot to the touch after booting it up. It went through so many updates the first device never even attempted. It was able to access Samsung Hubs, but continued to say there was a problem with Samsung Apps. Both of which work on my Galaxy S3 phone.
Getting a refund for this expensive headache.
The packaging for these tablets is atrocious as well. They have no cushioning on top of the tablet. It's front screen (though a screen protection sticker is on it) rests against a thin slip of cardboard, which belongs to the box's package, and that's it. There are numerous paper flakes all over the box, under the stickers, and everywhere that must be wiped off prior to handling for fear of scratching anything.
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, loose speaker plates, scratched bezel, poor packaging

Best Tablet I've Ever Owned

I had another tablet that was dying so my partner decided I needed an upgrade. One of my biggest reasons for choosing the Note 10.1 2014 was the S-Pen and I have not been disappointed. I think better when I write versus type, so I was always writing on paper then transferring things to my office apps. Now I just have to write and with handwriting recognition software, I don't have to do double duty anymore. Also, I have always been a big fan of the Samsung screen after owning a Galaxy Nexus and Samsung cellphones. Again, I was not disappointed in the screen, it's clarity and ease of use with the S-Pen.
Only thing I wish they had done was updated the "User's Digest". I think the one they have on the system is for the 1st generation and the 2014 is second generation, so some of the pictures and directions are incorrect for this tablet. The good thing is that the tablet is easy to use and things are pretty easy to figure out even when the digest is incorrect. Samsung, please give us a new Digest!

Cons: user's digest is for first generation not 2014., want an updated digest

I get occasionally freezes when doing the simplest task. The internet explorer for samsung is a little buggy. The design and spec are superior to other tablets on the market, but performance wise it falls short. I'm hoping the 4.4 will improves this performance or I might have to consider another tablet.

No Functioning Bluetooth

Overall, this is a nice tablet - however, the Bluetooth is not functioning properly. The keyboard connection is not robust - and drops any Bluetooth connected peripheral frequently.
If the desire is to have a table that can serve as a replacement to for a laptop - that is something that will work with a Bluetooth keyboard, skip this item. This product should have never been released in this condition.
Cons: Poor quality, bluetooth does not work

Excellent Tablet but Lacks a Critical Feature

I just returned my Note 10.1 2014 edition to the store where I purchased it. I am sad to part with it.
I bought this tablet after testing out the writing capabilities. It writes beautifully. The ability to run two applications side-by-side is very useful. It has lots of unique and useful features and I was happy to pay its retail price.
However, I need to be able to connect to a monitor. Two calls to Samsung technical support and I've learned that this just isn't possible. Apparently it was designed to connect via wireless to a TV, and that's it.
Pros: Bright display, a tablet you can really write on, two applications side-by-side, can add memory later
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Got this device for my 5yr old as a birthday presents and he loves it, has installed tons of games and it never slows down graphics look awesome the movies are even better to watch on this tablet than on home tv... lol... highly recommend this device!!!!
