I was looking for a new wireless printer and I have to say for me (who knows nothing about how to really work a computer) I had absolutely no problem installing this onto my Mac! I am so happy already!

Epson XP-420

Good little printer for the price ! Wired hook up to my desktop tower was "plug + play" after the CD driver install...Wireless networking, cloud printing + "Epson connect" were NOT easy to set up...2 calls to tech support and downloading the user's E-manual helped. I am told that this printer can print "direct wi-fi" which means I can print from my android tablet directly to the printer, if there is no wi-fi or router...I am looking forward to taking both in my car, on a ski trip, and printing lift tickets from the ski area parking lot with no wi-fi ( my car is a hybrid and has a 120 volt ac inverter for printer or other devices )..I am NOT counting on this to work problem free on the first test out...

I am not sure about this unit. I have had good luck with Epson before. I have the XP-420 but it won't print. I followed the vague instructions for setting this system up. However, it does not print anything. I am not ready to go out and buy more print cartridges as the instructions said after setup the remaining ink in the cartridges can be used for printing. I don't know if all the ink was used up during setup or not. I'm confused and unhappy!

Epson XP420 Printer

I already had an Epson XP400 printer, which has great features and has served me very well. I needed a second printer for my second home, and the XP420 was the closest model available to the discontinued XP400. I was able to complete the installation without outside help in about 30 minutes, though some of the instructions were sketchy. The biggest confusion (and time-waster) came when registering the product--the registration instruction initially referred to "Roxio", which has nothing to do with Epson, and it would not accept the printer serial number. Only after the printer installation was complete does the instruction tell how to register the actual printer. Epson needs tech writers who are more thorough and more competent to prepare their tech manuals. However, this is my sixth Epson printer, so I haven't given up on Epson.

I have installed many printer models since college. (33 years) This was one of the easiest installations yet. For a printer priced less than the cost of a good sushi dinner it is quite impressive indeed.

Easy Set Up

Just purchased a wireless printer and I was surprised at how easy it was to set up! In the past I would have a difficult time getting the printer to recognize my system but not with Epson's DVD automatic set up.
I would recommend this to a friend!
