am student and I hav just bought the Epson 420 and all I can say is tha it the best for a student or for home use since its economical on ink usage

Great Printer Missing Important Feature

This is a great printer. It easily connects wirelessly to my devices for printing and scanning. The printing speed is average and the quality is fine. However, it does NOT print front and back. I very rarely have something I want to print that won't be front and back. So every time I print I have to stand at the printer and feed the paper through one page at a time. Needless to say I will be switching printers soon, even though this is a great printer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

would be nice if you printed the serial # up front or on a sticky page on the front of machine ,OR were it is on your set up first page

runs out of ink to quickly

I was excited to get a printer that would print from my phone.It worked great until I noticed that I had to replace the ink every month sometimes twice a month.It wont work if one of the ink colors are out.You have to have all the ink colors working just to use the black ink.

I have so much trouble with this thing, ink runs out very quickly, reduce/ enlarge messes up my document every time, plus more

EPSON HOME XP-420

I have had this printer for a few weeks now. Extremely simple to set up. Basically set itself up. I use it with my desk top computer and also the lap top. The wireless connection to my lap top works extremely well. I use a Dell lap top and it just picked up the printer with no problems. As far as printing it works great. No problems so far. I do not do any large printing projects, but for the small jobs work great

ink cartridges have to be replaced constantly

we use this printer for small, infrequent school projects (1 or 2 pages) and in 4 months have had to replace the cartridges twice which are expensive. we have to order them online. bad purchase - the cheap base price is just a hook to the many ink cartridges you will have to buy
