It is a very efficient printer and excellent for what I wanted it for. Fits on my desk, I forget it's there.

as for printing it does an excellent job if using just white copy paper--but I got the printer to also print out photos as I take so many and like to send them to family and friends--but the photo paper crimps when it gets to the last 2 inches and it does not print the last 2 inches of the photo--just strikes of color and it makes a terrible noise--
this is the second Epson I have owned--had no problem with the first one!!

Really like...BUT SUPER DISAPPOINTED

This is my second Epson. I got it because it was a great deal and I was hoping it would have improved...but it didn't.
I really like it because it's compact, easy to install and the print quality is superb.
It's the INK that is the PROBLEM. It gobbles up ink..like SUPER FAST. It's simply amazing. I am a student where I need to print our information, etc....AND a member of a club where I print out our weekly agendas. It's barely printing 50 copies before I have to buy more ink. This is NOT good for my budget because the ink is expensive and I haven't located any coupons to help with the cost. One other point, the machine will indicate ink low...replace. When you actually look at the ink levels on the display, there is still ink. It's telling you to replace the cartridges (throw away that ink and buy more expensive ink).
It gets 1 star because I like the printing...the minus 4 stars because it's harsh on the budget. SUPER DISAPPOINTED!!!! (I hope this review gets shared.)

Sorry need help

Up until yesterday everything was great.
I got a message to up date the 420 printer. While I was working on other things I let it run in the update mode. Somehow?!! Something was disconnected and now I have a EPSON PRINTER -- RECOVERY MODE--FILE IS NOT FOUND.
Until I get this fix I cannot tell you about how wonderful the printer is (or was).
I'm going to try an get some support from the website.

Absolute junk

Wireless drops every few weeks randomly.
Nothing I do in the software can get it to work. Turning it off and on multiple times (more than 10) seems to fix it.
I have another printer in the same place and this has no issues.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don't You Know how Much using this Printer Costs?

This printer has some THE most expensive ink on a per-page basis as nearly any printer on the market. It costs way too much to use, if you plan to use it often.

great home printer

I have used several Epson printers and have finally settled on a small, wireless home model. Every Epson product I have used works wonderfully with great Epson inks and paper. The only problem I have ever had is that with only occasional use, the print jets dry out and clog. The catch is, you can't clean them until the printer determines you're out of ink. The only workaround I can figure out is to print on a regular basis so they don't dry out.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Scan & Save Document

After reading the instructions that came with the XP-420 All-In-One , I cannot figure out how to Scan & Save by Name a document.
Very poor manual of instructions. I will have to contact Epson for help.
Using Windows 7, and cannot use that program to complete Scan, and Save process.
So far, very dissappointed with this printer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
