So Far, So Good

The Epson XP 420 is the perfect printer for our home usage. It is compact and easy to use. I really like that it requires separate ink cartridges. I have also printed 4x6 photos and the quality is great. The WiFi feature works flawlessly with my laptop and mobile devices. I highly recommend this affordable all-in-one printer.

Home XP-420 is great for someone that prints a lot and does not do a lot of scanning. If you are looking for a scanner do not buy this one as you can only scan one document at a time instead of multiple pages.

Epson XP-420 All in One

I just installed the all-in-one and it was super easy. I will follow up with a usage review shortly but if printing/scanning/copying is as easy as the set up then I will come back with a rave review!

Installation

I'm non-techy and installation was quite straight forward and I didn't even get frustrated.The only suggestion I would have is that the instructions SHOULD state that the packing material inside the printer needs to be removed before you start the installation process. We did happen to look inside before we started and removed it but I thought ... what if we hadn't checked. Not everyone would look if they are non techy.

Having had numerous printers over the years, I know that ultimately, it will take more than a few weeks of ownership to make a complete assessment of a product, as only with time, will I come to know how durable, dependable, and cost effective that it is.
The initial set up was quick and thorough. The wifi, is easily accessed by all my network devices. The color appears to be true, and having had Epson products in the past, I am already familiar with the customization and adjustment procedures.
Printing is clear and at reasonable speed. Prints well on plain and photo papers. Scanning and copying are also easily performed with optimal quality for most any home application. All in all it has met all expectations for practical home use.
It will remain to be seen how cost effective the ink proves to be, and whether there are any problems with jets clogging, drying up or otherwise ceasing to operate after long periods of excessive use or periods of sitting idol.
