Motor seems fine and holds charge. The adjustable length guard changes on it's own while using causing the trimmer too cut too short
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I dropped this by accident and now the black head keeps falling out of the base with normal use. Could have been designed better or made more durable.

Product is in a landfill somewhere. I am truly disappointed and have delayed buying another Philips product. Spend the extra money for trimmer, whether it be Philips or another brand.
I purchased this to trim a beard to stubble length. Easy enough, no? But this product, with it's sliding plastic sleeve/comb, doesn't cut short enough and is not easy to adjust or clean. I'm returning it.
Cons: difficult to adjust, can't trim closely, hard to clean
Good product than I expected and so far the performances are much better.
Pros: essy to carry
Cons: metter to have hard case
I would recommend this to a friend!

This product is fantastic. I love that it lasts so long. I do not have too much to shave but I have had it for over a month and I have not had to charge it once. It is a great shaver and all the attachments are easy to put on. The sliding on of the pieces can get a little annoying. Just make sure you have them clicked on right. I had it slide from a 4 to a 2 one time and my face looked funny. Also a dock would be great. Keeping all this stuff together is a pain since it comes with so much.
Pros: battery life, ease of use, consistent
Cons: slide action attachments, no dock for all the attachments
