Greatest compact --- but....

This is my fifth Canon digital camera. I really like the compact form factor. That makes it easy to throw the camera in the pocket or glovebox. This model has plenty of MP's (12) and is relatively easy to use. The photos are vibrant.
The camera has many extra features available through the menus. However, after reading the 202 page user manual, I came to the conclusion that (1) Most of the extra features I would rarely use and (2) If I DID want use one of those unusual features it would be twice a year therefore (3) I and probably most users are not going to be able to MEMORIZE how to click down through said menus in order to implement those features.
Regardless, I think that the camera is a good value for the price.
Pros: compact size
Cons: complicated menus, no zoom during videos

This camera takes surprisingly clear photos. I recently took some stills of a track event of the runners coming down the track and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the images were not blurred. Once I read the instructions, the zoom feature was easy to use.
The camera is lightweight, yet sturdy. Images upload easily so that is a kudo to the supplied software including zoombrowser EX.
Pros: great zoom focus, exceptionally clear images

Love this Camera!

I received this camera for Christmas a year ago and I am loving this camera. I just learned new features of it, so now I can take even better photos with this camera. It may be expensive, but it is totally worth the money. It may not have the same features as a DSLR, but it works like one if you know the different features of it. There are some tricks and tips to taking a photo like a pro without the DSLR quality, but works just as great. Canon has got to be the best camera quality from all brands.
Pros: Fast auto-focus, Superior build quality, Super-sharp images, handy

Great camera

I chose this camera over others because of the great features. There are tons of available options to take neat pictures, my only problem is that I have a hard time finding all of them! The menu to get some of the options is a little complicated. There are a few too many things to change for me, considering I don't really know what they mean.
Other than that I love it! Its so lightweight and small, I can put it in my pocket if I want to or the case I got with it. The pictures are great. I also really like the software it comes with.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: Complicated controls/menu

Best Small Camera Ever

Before I got the camera, I did a bunch of research on it to make sure I was purchasing the right camera, & I did. It is very easy to use, after reviewing the user guide. I know I'll use it for my photography project for school because it's exactly like the camera we have for school, just smaller. And I know that it will defiantly capture all of my high school moments the way I want it to.

Great small point and shoot

Bought it in advance of a two week vacation and was very happy with it both on the trip and looking at the pictures afterwards. Glad I got this model.
Battery cover is a bit flimsy feeling. Menus can be a bit hard to navigate.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: Complicated controls/menu, Flimsy Construction

scrolling tabs now too small

Love all my PowerShots, and the Elph 100HS is no exception EXCEPT that the now larger screen means that the left/right up/down scroll tabs/buttons are too small to be intuitively operated by your thumb as was possible with the 100 SD...you need to use a fingernail now...way less convenient
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable
