One of the Best LCDs I've Found for the Price

I previously owned a Samsung plasma, but was having image retention problems and found myself avoiding certain channels that I enjoy such as ESPN, CNN, History because of image retention. I decided to switch to this TV and it has worked out well overall. If I hadn't come from an plasma TV, I would probably be absolutely wowed by this TV. But LCDs just can't compare to the picture quality of a plasma. Glare was another problem with the plasma in my bright room, but worth the sacrifice for the picture. No glare issues at all with this LCD though.
Pros: - Excellent picture quality, color, uniformity, etc. compared to other LCDs - Numerous adjustment options available - Auto Motion Plus (AMP) definitely helps when it works right (see below). - Very minimal glare with matte screen - Eco sensor is great to adjust brightness. Since I have a very, very bright room during the day, it's nice to have it automatically adjust at night. - Backlit remote is nice (although not every button lights up) - Plenty of inputs - Swivel stand is convenient and moves easily - Very easy to assemble stand and set up
Cons: - I mentioned AMP is great when it works right. The Smooth and Standard settings (high and medium) are mostly unusable because they cause the picture to stutter. I've been using the Clear setting (low) which does a nice job of cleaning up some of the blur that LCDs have. The motion on this setting is comparable to my plasma. Keep in mind that this adjustment is based on viewer's preference and not every AMP seems to work the same on every TV - Whenever I first turn on the TV, the picture tends to stutter occassionally until I turn AMP up to standard, then back down to clear. I have to do this every time. It's not a really big deal, but a minor annoyance. I haven't come across this problem in any forums from other users though. Adjusting it like this works like a charm every time. - Samsung recommends different AMP settings based on what you're watching such as sports, movies, general TV. But they don't have a shortcut on the remote to change the AMP setting. You have to go through the menu to change it.
I can't speak to the sound since I have a surround sound system.
As you can see, my only cons have to do with AMP although I do find it beneficial. It is definitely better than a 60Hz TV for motion blur in my opinion. Now if only they could get the performance of a plasma without the image retention, then I'd give that TV a 5 star rating!

I like the TV except I've had this TV for 16 months and I just started having problems with it. The screen starts to flutter after 15 minutes and gets dark. I would of thought with the rating Samsung gets I would of thought I would of not had any problems this soon just after the 1 year waranty. I guess we will see how Samsung handles this issue.
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this TV two months ago and couldn't be more happy about my decision to do so.
The picture quality is excellent. All images from SD TV to DVD to HD TV to Blu-ray look better than ever. The contrast is great, with blacks appearing deep and dark, whites appearing crisp and clean, shadows appearing everywhere they are expected, and every color in between appearing in it's full fidelity.
HDMI-CEC and Anynet+ have also proven to be great features. With my Samsung Blu-ray player, I only need one remote to operate the TV and Blu-ray play seamlessly. There's no need to switch between modes. I simply switch to the Blu-ray input and the unit comes on and the appropriate buttons control the corresponding devices and menus exactly how I would expect them to if I were switching between remotes.
Having compared several brands and models before making my purchase I'm confident I got the most out of my money.
I have only a few minor gripes with the TV.
The largest of those is sound quality. It's great for most content but doesn't always sound crisp and clear at higher volumes.
The second is the backlight. The TV's software does a lot to remedy this, however under manual settings it is clear that the model is backlit from the edge. This makes the benefit of spending more on an rear-backlit LED very clear. When the TV manages it's own brightness, however, the bleeding light isn't visible.
With AllShare, the TV doesn't support playback of AAC audio. This makes playback of content imported and purchased using iTunes difficult. There's no Mac client either, so it's useless without a PC. Rather than converting all my music and using my Mac or PC as a media server, I put all my media on a networked hard drive and connected it to the TV via USB.
The final issue is with the depth of the menus. I don't think Samsung has done everything they can to make the most used features as easily accessible as possible. The menu is easy enough to navigate but I would prefer having my favorite settings at the touch of just a couple buttons and the option to remove inputs I have no intention of using from the list.
Overal, I would highly recommend this TV. I consider it to be a great value for the money compared to other models.

I just happen to call Dell to order a part for my computer when the customer rep asked if I was interested in a tv. I had been wanting a large screen tv for over 2 years. I love it. Such a clear picture, with bright vivid colors.
