The complete enclosure of the phone not only protects, but preserves the quality of the phone. The newly improved holster clip minimizes the change of breakage due to "catching" on objects, a significant improvement on previous versions (although customer service will replace and such breakage). Otter Box customer service is extraordinary in their efforts to support their products. I have two other Otter Box Defenders and when I change phones again, I will gladly purchase another!!! Thank you Otter Box!!

I'm a tradesmen and I see most people on job sites have Otter Boxes protecting their expensive devices so when I purchased a smart phone I ordered an Otter box. I was mostly worried about dust since I am constantly drilling into concrete. The product description says the Otter box protects from dust, but the case is not completely sealed and fine concrete dust gets in the home button opening, camera opening, and the ear speaker opening. The case fits great and protects well. I dropped my phone while standing near the top of a 10 foot ladder and the phone was fine.

Quality fit and finish of the product. Fits the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini perfectly. Soft rubber exterior is easy to grip and hold. The inner lining (hard plastic) provides additional protection from falls and bumps. Have bounced it off the floor by accident and it appears nothing has happened to it. Rather than purchase the cell phone carrier's "protection plan", this seems like a more cost effective choice to protect the smartphone. Belt holster is quite good as well. Rotates and stays attached to me and the stand feature is an added bonus.

I've had LOTS of cell phones . . . mostly because I have an incurable tendency to unintentionally drop, drown, crush, scratch and otherwise destroy them! When I bought my Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini a month ago, I decided to spend the little bit of extra money necessary to protect it with an OtterBox Defender case. It was a very wise investment. During my first three weeks with the S4Mini/OtterBox combo, I (1) knocked it off a ladder shelf and down 7 feet to a concrete floor, (2) pushed it off a kitchen counter into a sink of hot soapy water, and (3) rolled over it with a large trash can loaded with over 80 pound of debris. Total damage done? NONE! Total cost of repair and/or replacement? $0! Although I'll hang onto my phone insurance coverage from Verizon, I doubt that I'll ever have to use it. For the first time in over 25 years, I think I've got a mobile wireless phone that I will be able to keep intact until it's eligible for an upgrade. THANK YOU, OTTERBOX! The Defender case slipped onto the S4 Mini without any problems, was easy to remove and replace when I added a larger SD card, allows me complete access to all the features of the "naked" phone, and has a grippy surface that makes it very easy to hang onto the phone. A great product!
