pros:
-sturdy build, feels like it will actually protect the phone
-attractive design
-one of the few S4 mini cases around that covers the majority of the phones holes, to prevent dirt and foreign objects clogging them
-very easy to use the phone with this case on (with one exception below)

cons:
-cutout for home button allows dust to enter and get between screen and screen protector at the bottom (very annoying)
-same goes for lack of seal below opening for front camera and sensors, allows dust and lint to get between the screen and screen protector at the top (would be good if there was some kind of foam or rubber seal to prevent this from happening)

minor cons:
-i bought 2 cases, and on one the cutout for home button didnt line up properly
-cutout for front camera and sensors is not symmetrical by design (symmetry on this would make for a better looking case, same applies to many other cases in the otterbox range)
-rubber flaps for charger and headphone ports seem like they will get loose and lose form over time
-occasionally difficult to slide things to the edge of the screen with thumb, because the raised protective edge hits the edge of my thumb before the centre of my thumb gets to the edge of the screen (means i have to readjust my hold of the phone and use a fingertip instead)

very decent case for the S4, but still plenty of areas to improve on. feels like it will protect the phone without compromising much else. despite the cons, i still highly recommend it.

I'm loving my Otterbox. Sure it's not the sexiest cover I've ever seen, however those concerns went bye-bye yesterday when I realized this little gem saved my phone. We got 14" of snow yesterday. I was taking pictures and shoveling. After a while, I went inside for a break and tossed my coat, hat and gloves in the dryer. About 20 minutes later I couldn't find my phone and then when flying to the laundry room. (I had wondered what that thumping sound was.) And there inside the pocket of my down coat was my cell phone. Totally intact. Same goes with my Otterbox. The fun continued today when I was taking more pictures and I tripped and did a face plant in the snow. The screen was all wet and I thought uh-oh. But there was no reason to worry because my phone and that beautiful case were totally intact.

I got the Defender Series Case for my Galaxy S4 Mini and it is AWESOME! With a solid, durable design that fits the phone like a glove, it provides outstanding protection while at the same time allowing easy and comfortable use of the buttons and touch screen. It was a little more expensive than I expected, but then again it's a whole lot better than buying a new phone or dealing with a cracked screen. Good job Otter Box! Keep up the good work!
