Really don't utilize the compartment. Case is overall well built, but too slick in my opinion. Case needs some type of rubber for skidding, and also for better grip. I've actually gone back to one of my old boxes because of this. Customer service for these guys is awesome though !!!
Pros: Durable
Cons: too slick

Dropped it on the Great Wall!

I was hiking the Great Wall of China, and then I dropped my iPhone (wearing the Commuter case) down at least 20 steep stone steps, rolling down for about 30 feet before it finally stopped. I was really concerned that my phone would crack, but the phone didn't have a scratch! Of course, the case had a few bumps on the corners- but it had done its' job well, and the scratches were minimal. All this to say, I highly recommend OtterBox!
I have enjoyed my Commuter case a lot - I hold my ID cards, as well as money when needed in the case, and they all fit quite well. The only down side is the size - an OtterBox can be quite bulky. But for the value you're getting, at the end of the day, it's worth it.

Yes, the credit card case separated, but was able to be slid back in, and not a bit of damage to the inner core and the iPhone!

I love this case. I am so glad it can hold my cards. I wish although it would hold just a little more I can either have 4 cards or 3 cards and a bill. Who carries just one bill. It needs just a tad more space available. but with this no more lost licence or credit cards lost. So happy!!!
