I have been looking for a bare floor vacuum and spent so much money buying the expensive brands, only to discard them after a few months. This Bissell floor vacuum exceeded my expectations in performance, light weight and ease of use. I work as a product development professional and except for a little longer cord, there is nothing I would change on this vacuum if is for home use. For a professional use, it may require a little bigger canister and of course longer cord. But it will sacrifice the light wait. Great product and thank you for the smart design.

We bought the vacuum and used it regularly mostly on our two area rugs and couch. We clean it after each use as we have a cat and want to be sure it runs at optimum capacity. It has been 6 months and it no longer has suction and smells when we run it. We have hardwood floors, so we sweep before running the unit so as not to over clog it (cat). With how easy our one bedroom apartment is to clean, this unit should not be over worked. It is simply poor construction or parts.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have all porcelain tile floors and one area rug. The canister maneuvers well and is very quiet. The vacuum has very good suction. The hard floor tool picks up loose dirt without scattering it around. Although the floor tools swivel side to side, they are at a fixed angle and do not lay flat to clean under furniture and up to baseboards. Please change that construction. I like Bissell products (have the Powerfresh Steam Mop for Hard Floors) and would buy again even though the angle of the floor tools is a little inconvenient.

The suction has always been poor, even when I clean it after each use, the filter, the canister, etc. I have owned it for a year, and I'm done fussing with it. Not worth the money!

This unit works very well on the various types of hard floors we have in our house (cork, bamboo and tile), but it would be much better if the cord was longer. I have to unplug and replug just to finish vacuuming a single large room.

I purchased this vacuum cleaner about 8 months ago and have regretted it since. It worked ok for about one month that is if you don't mind emptying the canister twice when vacuuming house because if there is anything at all in the canister or around the yellow plastic filter cup it will not suck. . After the month it just lost most of its suction power and forget using this if you have pets.....OMG it should be illegal to sell such a poor product. What is really crazy is I saw a couple of bad reviews on this product be for purchasing and thought well they where the type of people that just could not be pleased....NO THAT WAS NOT IT..THIS IS JUST A BADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD PRODUCT!!!

We are very sorry for your disappointment and do appreciate your review. We can get your machine back to working when you first purchased it with a few troubleshooting tips. First, make sure the filters are clean. Dirty filters will restrict airflow. The good thing is the foam filters are hand washable with mild soap. Make sure they are dry before reinstalling. Please remove the upholstery hose to check for any hair that may be restricting airflow. A broom stick handle works good to push any clogs through.
