Horrible, Horrible Part!

I've had my mixer (which I absolutely love, btw), for about 3 years. I used the whip once and it tarnished when I washed it, leaving black marks all over my hands and anything else it touched.
I have NOT used this since because I don't want to risk the residue getting into what ever I'm mixing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Black residue on attachments after washing. BAD!

I have a tilt-head stand mixer that I love. However, the attachments - all 3 of them - have a black/grey residue on them after washing. Not only is it unsightly, but this residue can be transferred to the dough (or whatever it is I am mixing), not to mention turning my hands black when handling them. I have to resort to heavily wiping down the attachments to get rid of the residue

Wires broke away from base on 2nd use

I bought in fall of 2020. I was mixing softened butter, egg and sugar and it broke. Previously used one time to mix pancake batter. I think its past warranty and I never registered it, but for the cost of the appliance and what I used it for, should have lasted more than 2 uses.

Aluminum top leaves residue

Disappointed that the top of the whip is aluminum and doesn’t fully get clean. Tarnished and leaves residue when cleaning.

Wire Whisk Leaves Residue in Food

I love my stand mixer of 21 years. I even bought one for my mother. However, after spending all that money on both, I was so disappointed when the gray particles from the wire whisk started showing up in my food. I thought I was doing what was needed to keep everything in tip top shape by hand washing and drying my whisk after every use. But that did not matter, because the coating would come off on my hand and in my food.
This concerns me greatly because I don't know what I'm feeding my family. Of course I spooned it out, but I'm scared to use it. Your product is amazing, but you tarnish its reputation by not making the stainless steel accessories standard. Let's do better Kitchenaid, I know you can.

NOT DISHWASHER SAFE DESPITE WHAT THE MANUAL SAYS!!

This came with my mixer and in the manual it said all the attachments included were dishwasher safe. It is most definitely NOT dishwasher safe! I've had my mixer for about 5 or 6 years now and now suddenly it won't even attach to the mixer at all PLUS it leaves nasty black residue all over your hands and drips into your food your mixing. The replacement price is RIDICULOUSLY HIGH. I received my mixer as homewarming gift. Why is everything so expensive from here?

I love my Pro Series 500 stand mixer, but I cannot believe that they'd ship this awful piece with it. I washed it once, just once, and now it's all black and has black residue on my hands every time I touch it, I can't use it for making any food of course. Apparently I'm not the only one with this issue either.

Disappointing material quality on replacement part

I have had my stand KitchenAid Mixer for 40+ years and love it. My original wirewhip attachment lasted 37 years. One of the wires came loose from the base so I ordered a replacement in July 2022 from KitchenAid. In just 3 years, that wirewhip has failed in the same way. I have ONLY washed this one by hand, as I read the other reviews saying that the new replacement parts are failing quickly and the inferior materials may be at fault, so I thought hand-washing was safer. I use the wire whip attachment on my mixer with whip about 1x/week, and this service life is unacceptable. I am extremely disappointed in this product, and now must order a 2nd replacement in a short period of time.
