We bought this a while back and have used the the meat grinder and the rotor shredder several times. We really like using the meat grinder and sausage stuffing kit to make homemade bratwursts. The parts are easy to assemble, and it works great. The shredder also works great and makes quick work of the usually tedious task of grating veggies and cheese. Clean-up for both items is a breeze since they breakdown quickly and easily. We are really glad we bought this package.

this attachment is not bad but it could be better the cheese grader has a hard time grading cheese the blades are not sharp enough and they rub on the plastic and make grooves in it. The meat grinder works great but the sausige stuffer could be better it is realy slow you have to push the meat with your finger because the handle to push it doesen't work the meat just gets around it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

grinding beef doesn't work

I bought the grinder because I had read that my ground beef would be better if I ground it myself. The beef got stuck in the grinder and the mixer overheated. I cut it off, cleaned it out and after the mixer cooled down, I tried it again. Same result. I thought maybe the chuck roast wan't a good one so I bought another, cut out most of the fat and tried it again. Same result.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I had to replace the 20+ year old grinder that i had inherited. The new cutting blade is very flimsy and not heavy enough to take on various cuts and type of meats. Since i have the stand up mixer,I feel stuck with the product. Need to engineer a new one.

first time to use it. easy and clear directions. used the large blade first and then put the beef through the small blade. good texture. best not to force the food thru the tube. easy to clean

I have been using the grinding attachment for I don't know how many years now. When I went through a divorce, my first purchase for my new kitchen was another Kitchen-aid & grinding attachment.
