We bought the grain mill a nine months ago, and used it with our mixer. We had no issues with the mixer before, now the mixer has a gear inside that has been replaced twice. All we grind is rice for flour. We pause the machine during grinding to prevent overheating the mixer. I guess it may work fine with other grains, we have not tried. Look at reviews on other websites regarding this product. It may look nice and shiny out of the box, but it could kill your mixer over time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this mill! I bough some hard white wheat and made some cookies. The finest setting was still not very fine so I ran it through twice and it seemed to do the trick! Took about 5 minutes for 4 cups on the highest setting.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the grain mill about a month ago and have used it twice so far. I ground red winter wheat on the fine setting and the flour turned out great. It helped me make yummy homemade banana bread.

So far I love my grinder. I’ve read the other reviews so I guess time will tell if it burns out my mixer. But for the moment it is great! I have one question, I have the professional HD and when I use me grinder it is too close to my mixer to set a bowl under it to catch my flour, but too far away to set a bowl in the mixer to catch the flour as it comes out, do you have a bowl designed specifically for catching the flour? I have to stand and hold a bowl under the grinder and catch my flour. That’s the reason for 4 stars instead of 5!

I bought this because I can’t afford the spending hand mill and I needed to mill kamut berries. I am surprised that it milled a whole bag of Bob’s Red Mill kamut berries in less than 10 minutes and it wasn’t as loud as people said it was. It milled pretty effortlessly. I thought it was going to be hard on my machine but it didn’t seem to care. I have the 325/375 watt artisan 5 quart model. I still want a hand mill for emergency preparedness but this one is perfect for me. I make about a loaf a week. It is also sturdy and well made.
