Either something is wrong with my toaster or they all suffer the same issues; even on maximum setting of 7 it barely toasts sufficiently. Elements don't appear to be working properly (inefficient) and certainly not all appear to be working. Crumpet setting does not seem to work properly either. When set to crumpet, elements on both sides turn down so instead of toasting more on the intended side, it just takes twice as long to toast. Not impressed...definitely not worthy of its price tag.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Looks very nice, easy to use, browns evenly, easy to clean. Love that we can make toasts of different bread at the same same due to dual settings. There are few things that could be improved though. 1. Large shade knobs feel cheap, they are attached quite loose, this should have been done in a more professional way. 2. Toasting time is quite long. 3. On/Off button would be a good addition.

It’s everything I wanted except for the crumpet setting. You need to put crumpets through 2 or 3 times on the highest setting for them to brown.
