Beater Bar Drive Belt keeps coming off

Have used the vac about twenty times since purchase, and have needed to put the beater bar belt back on nearly as many times. It appears that pet hair is getting in around the shaft and under the belt causing it to slip off --- poor design in my opinion. If you have a pet, I would not recommend anyone buying this model.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a dog who only sheds lightly (non-shedding) and at 73 years old, I also have a disability walking with a cane. The 'self propelled' vacuum is a godsend for me because I don't have to push it like other vacuums and picks up everything off my rug. I didn't realize it had this feature when I bought it and I am in love with this vacuum. Thank you !

Excellent suction. The Brush is smaller than on some other vacs but the suction hole is centered, so you get a lot of concentrated power. The Lift off is neat, of course. When my Dyson (which wasn't picking up anything even after a thorough dis-assembly and cleaning of the unit) broke when I stepped on the vacuum to recline it, I got this vacuum. I was wary of the low price but was surprised that it blew the Dyson(I had one of the older models, but still) out of the water. Some CONS though: the lid on the dust bin is rather flimsy, so be careful with it and make sure that the center peace is inserted property before slamming it shut. The dust bin is tiny! So if you let your place go and have multiple pets, you'll be emptying it A LOT. Other than that, very impressed with the suction. It picked up a ton of cat hair my old expensive Dyson couldn't.

Nice, but some drawbacks

I owned this vacuum for less than one week when the clip broke that holds the pet turbo brush. The brush came apart and I was not able to get it back together again. I was cleaning up needles under the Christmas tree using just the hose when the vacuum tipped over on my wood floor. Fortunately I was able to get replacement parts. But the design of the hose is the problem. It is stiff and doesn't easily extend or stay extended enough to use. I have this problem with the lift off section also. It almost requires a third hand. The suction is great for my carpet. I like the ability to turn off the beater brush and clean the wood floors. The cord could be longer. When you attach it to the cord clip on the vacuum base you lose about two feet of cord. If you don't clip it, it is a tripping hazard. The vacuum head is smaller, but that is good for getting into narrower spaces. The swivel feature is very handy too. I also would like a separate brush to use on just the stairs.
