We like the PowerGlide Pet Vacuum a great deal, It does an excellent job of picking up dog hair from the carpet and bare floor. It is easy to maneuver and glides quite well. The only thing we feel that could be better is the area where the power cord is stored. There are things close to this area that make winding of the cord cumbersome. If this could be improved we would give the vacuum 5 stars,

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vacuum works well and has excellent suction. The powerhead helps lift out all kinds of debris from the carpet. Our previous vacuum left too much behind, which is why we bought a new one. My wife loves the lift off feature for the stairs, which is needed as overall the vacuum is a little on the heavy side. The lack of on board storage for the tools is a drawback and the extension wand falls out of the clip on the rear regularly. The cord storage is small requiring extra effort to keep wrapping the cord around. Lastly the Turbobrush tool gets clogged quite easily. Overall a good machine with a few drawbacks.
I would recommend this to a friend!

SUBSTANDARD design compared to previous model 89Q9

Purchased "Lift-off MultiCyclonic Pet Vac (89Q9) in 2012...SUPER GREAT AND RELIABLE VAC!! Wanted to purchase same vac for mother, but Power Glide Lift-off Deluxe Upright Pet Vac (2763) was closest model available in 2015. HORRIBLE! Vac head constantly swivels and is impossible to steer! Vac is extremely heavy! It is incapable of adjusting for proper carpet lengths, so on thick and higher carpets you have to push really hard to vacuum. Had to purchase another name brand for mother, so I now have this horrible vac at my house for a back-up in case my SUPER GREAT 89Q9 model breaks. I assure you if my 89Q9 breaks, I will end up purchasing a different brand before purchasing another Bissell that has the swivel head and no carpet adjustment. Very poor design for #2763!!! What was Bissell thinking when they discontinued the 89Q9 model??? I have 3 floors to my home and would LOVE to have 89Q9 model to keep on each floor!!!! 89Q9 very much worth the price!!! 2763...wouldn't give you a penny for it! Not worth the money and certainly not a good model for an older person! My advice...DO NOT BUY 2763 FOR ANYONE! I have been a very devoted customer to Bissell products; but if my 89Q9 breaks, I am afraid I will no longer be a member of the "Bissell family". Hope this helps anyone who may be thinking of purchasing model 2763!! Only selected a "one star" rating as a rating was required to submit this review...the truth of the matter is I would not give it "any star" as a rating as this is the worst vacuum made!

Was hesitant to buy this but read reviews and didn't want to spend a lot of money on a dyson. At first the vacuum was great did what i needed it to. However the third use it started to stop sucking, the motor gets very hot. Will have to take it to one of the reputable dealers shown on the website but not really happy about this inconvenience. I guess you get what you pay for

I purchased this product because I have two cats that stay at home, and I needed a good vacuum to help get rid of the hair. The suction is good, quite powerful but the vacuum itself is a bit hard to use. The hose is very rigid, and I actually have to lift the lift off part of the vacuum very high to reach higher places. Also, after using this product since June 2014, I just put the lift off part back in it's socket, and now it won't suck from the bottom anymore. I'm stuck with only the hose sucking in air. Is there something I can do about this? And finally, I do have to clean up the brushes at the bottom after pretty much every use otherwise it all gets tangled. (mostly because of my long hair that ends up on the floor somehow) It's not a bad product, but it's not as good as I had expected.

Thanks for your review. It's nice to hear you do like the suction from your PowerGlide vacuum. If you need to extend out further when using the hose you can order another extension wand. This will connect to the one you have. This way you know it's connected to the base correctly. It's good to keep the brush roller free from hair/debris. To ensure the best suction keep the filters clean. The foam filters are hand washable with mild soap. They do need to be dry before reinstalling.

Your Bissell PowerGlide Deluxe Pet Vacuum is the best I have ever used. It is lightweight enough, and the suction is incredible. I have 2 cats, and enough cat hair to make a third. The Bissell really gets it out of the carpet, and also takes care of the little messes of litter around their boxes. Emptying is a breeze. Along with the Spot-Bot, my carpets really look good. Thank you for a product that acts as good as the commercials say it does!

This vacuum has made my condo carpet look like it was just put down seven years ago. I have been wishing for a way to take better care of the carpet. Now, I wish we had had it for cleaning with five boys at home along with their cats and dogs.

Would not buy again

This is our 3rd Bissell Lift off and it's no where's near as good as our last two and we returned 3 days after we bought it. While we love the lift off feature and it did work well on this over all use on floors was very difficult. First of all the path of the machine is smaller 12" vs 15". Second had to fight with the machine to push it across a low nap or medium nap rug, it was so bad that it hurt my wrist and it pulled at the nap of the rug. There is no manual adjustment to the height of the machine just "automatic" height adjustment. The maneuverability or "steering" the machine seems to be for show and had no real practical purpose as it did not work well. I will not buy another Bissell until they improve the design of the Lift Off series and even then will have to think twice. As I stated before we owned two previously and were so happy with them that there was no doubt that we were going to buy a third when we needed a new one but were very disappointed and returned it promptly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
