Very impressed with this vacuum

I couldn't believe I won something but I'm sure glad I did! This vacuum is very light weight and handles great. Tested head to head with my expensive pet vacuum it did an even better job of pulling the dander and hair of the three large dogs who live in this house out of the carpet. The only downside is the debris container is much smaller and needs to be emptied so much more. It also handles much better on bare floor. I have a stick vac that I use for the vinyl areas as my other vac is too heavy. My other vac is now relegated to the hall closet and I have passed the stick vac on to my mom! I'm an all Bissell house now!

We have owned serveral upright's over the years. A few Bissell's as well as other brands but, this is the first with a removable/portable feature. We also have a Bissell hepa cyclonic upright but, with two dogs and constantly vacuuming, we wanted to try this out with the suction claim in addition to the fact that it is not as wide as our hepa and seemed more manuverable. It is! A lot more manuverable. Easily moving around furniture. Of course we were also intriged with the lift-off feature and its portability. At first vacuuming did seem a little awkward from what we were used to as instead of the motor being in the base, it is a little higher and located at the bottom of the lift-off portion which does give the upper part a slightly heavier feel. Got used to it quickly though. Just like a new car or lawn mower I guess. By far I think what impressed us the most was the INCEDIBLE suction. So much so that it actually seems to pull itself forward even though it is not self propelled. The proof however, is what we see it pull deep from our carpet. Dogs should bathe more often. :) In a nutshell: Manuverable, portable, POWERFUL.

I just vacuumed my carpets with my old upright and received my new Bissell vacuum, I could not believe how much stuff the new Bissell sucked out of my carpets. I must have emptied the new vacuum eight times. Fantastic vacuum for the price.

I was very impressed with its work on the carpet - it is very powerful and performs much better than my last vacuum. However, it didn't do as well on my couch - I did try all the different attachments to see which would work best but none of them really did the job. I like the lift-off feature and the extra long cord which saves me from unplugging and plugging the vacuum back in multiple times.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I own a Bissell steam mop that I love which encouraged me to buy the Bissell Deluxe Pet Vacuum. I owned the vacuum 3 weeks and it did a great job of really picking up the cat hair. However this machine is not durable, the brush roll locked onto itself and stopped spinning damaging the housing and breaking the belt. The belt and brush are considered wear parts that I must replace which I could understand if I had used it for 2-3 years, but I have less than 3 hours of total run time. The housing Bissell will replace but I must go to an authorized dealer which is an hour away. I am going to get this fixed and if it happens again I will no longer purchase any products from Bissell.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having already had the Bissell upright vacuum, my decision to purchase a new one was an easy one. I've been very pleased with the overall job it did and wanted something simular. So the new one is a little smaller and lighter, but easier to mannuever with the self propell action it seems to have. However the mounts for the accessories are not ideal, it may just take some getting use to. It seems to so far do the job I need it to do, and the lighter weight should prove to be easier on my back.

I used the vaccuum for the first time and the dirt that came out of my carpets was so much more than my old vaccuum ever managed to get. I love that the beater bar can be turned on and off depending on what type of floor you are on. My only complaint is the tools on the back of the vaccuum seem like they are too lo g to be there and will fall off sometimes..... but really....its about clean floors NOT tool storage! Highly recommend this product!
