Good value

I bought this refrigerator with the "matching" freezer because I wanted the side by side and the description showed a picture of that. However, this is NOT the side by side. The freezer and fridge open the same way. So don't expect that. On the up side, it's a great unit for the money. I like the lighting on the inside and there's a ton of room. One actual issue is that the door is actually the freezer door and the lower half which holds frozen pizzas in the freezer, doesn't really hold anything in the fridge. Overall I'm pleased with the unit

All refrigerator has pros & cons

I prefer my refrigerators to be just that, with no freezer - those are in another room. I've found no major problems with my new Whirlpool, but several minor glitches keep it from being perfect. First, the door handle simply cannot be tightened enough to keep the bottom from clicking each time I open it. Second, keeping the 4 bins aligned is difficult. Last, the LED lighting is wonderful...until you fill the top shelf, after which, the lower shelves & bins are not illuminated. It would have been simple to include a light-bar so that the LED can be seen the full height of the refrigerator. Other than those, it's a good refrigerator at a great price.

extra space!

Love all the extra fridge space and the wide shelves in the door to hold gallon jugs! Great for summertime cool foods and beverages and my full size freezer is just 10 steps away. Perfect for me. I will say the light could be brighter. 40 watts is not quite enough for that big of space.

Leaks water all over kitchen floor!!!

We have owned this fridge for nearly 3 years now and we have a continual problem of water overflowing out of the drip pan onto our flooring. We purchased the Extended Warranty. The repair guys keep coming out, draining the pan, then scratching their heads as to the problem. Meanwhile our flooring (wood) is showing signs of damage. Last week it overflowed and the appliance guy drained the pan. This week he had to come back out and it was nearly overfilled again. About 2 quarts of water sitting inside! Our family has been more than patient in dealing with this issue and all the interruptions it causes when a repair guys has to come out - calling to report the issue, waiting around all day for the tech., and the actual repair job itself. I have to say that I am quite disappointed with the Extended Warranty folks for the way they are handling our refrigerator issues. I bought their extended protection plan, trusting that if we had any issue... we were in good hands getting them resolved. How many repair guys have to come out??? And I've contacted Whirlpool too, and they were really no help either. Kinda losing faith in both at this point. The attached photo (the repair guy took) is the water that was collected after just one week. You can see the water steadily dripping into the pan. One of the "master" repair tech behind some desk in his field office tried to suggest that the pan is overflowing due to outdoor humidity. He actually actually instructed the repair guy to plug the hose intentionally, wait 5-6 days, and see what happens! Really??? You don't know what will happen? Because I can tell you exactly what will happen... With 24 hours or so all the water (that is intended to drain into the drip pan) will begin to collect at the bottom of my refrigerator floor. It will then proceed to spill out the bottom gasket all over my kitchen floor for the next 5-6 days. No thank you, sir! I do not care to spend my weekend sopping up water with bath towels. RI-DIC-U-LOUS!!! Not happening.
I will say that I an disappointed that we could not get this fridge to work properly. I liked everything else about it - looks good, hold enough food for our family of seven, takes up minimal floor space. I really wish we did not have the leaking issue, otherwise it would be perfect, but as it is is plainly unacceptable.

Stopped working at 3 years. Same with freezer.

I bought this fridge and the stand alone matching freezer almost four years ago. The freezer quit freezing one day past the warranty and the fridge stopped cooling six months past the warranty. I am in a very rural location that isn’t covered by repair and I cannot afford to put any more money into these very young appliances. I’ve replaced the control panel and thermistor. Didn’t help. Instead I bought a used fridge just to get by. These whirlpool appliances are the most I’ve ever spent on appliances with the worst reliability.

We bought this about 5 years ago. Shortly after warranty expired, it started freezing food. Called the repairman and paid to have a part replaced. Fast forward to now and it’s not holding temperature. We had our last refrigerator for over 30 years with no issues then “upgraded” to this... should have kept the old one. Now I’m troubleshooting and trying to decide if I want to call a repairman AGAIN or just go and buy a used refrigerator.
