Don't understand why GE discontinued this model...It is so vey quiet, cleans like a dream, lots of space and cool features...I'm a very happy camper!

Quiet and Thorough

Purchased this dishwasher to replace the 10-year-old one that came with the house (which happened to also be a GE Profile that was working fine, but I wanted the updated look). I had a GE Profile in my last home and was very happy with it, and so far the trend is continuing. The dishwasher runs very quiet and does a very thorough job. It has simple controls that are flexible i.e. can wash the upper or lower rack only. The upper rack also can be adjusted for taller items, which is a handy feature. This may be a new thing with dishwashers, but, and this is a minor thing, the time to wash is not very flexible. It tends to run on the long side, meaning there is no quick wash settings as I have had on previous GE Profiles. Sometimes you just need a quick rinse/wash, but the quickest setting is a 45 minute rinse, which does not use the detergent dispenser, so its basically rinsing with plain water for 45 minutes. And speaking of water, one final note ... I love that this dishwasher is extremely efficient with its water usage, especially in this time of California drought. If I could have given 4 1/2 stars I would have because other than the minor wash time issue, this is an excellent machine.

This Cleans Well!

This dishwasher is being rated as "Fair" because it has its "quirks" when trying to start a load. That said, it does clean the dishes nicely and is EXTREMELY quiet.

I bought this a month ago. The first one they delivered was defective. I had it most of the way in before I noticed the hinge was broken. Fortunately they were good about quickly getting a replacement to us.
We really like it. It looks great. We love the silverwear holders and jets that make sure the silverwear really get clean. The dishes come out very clean. It's quiet. Right now we have five people at home so we need the full load, but love that when the day comes that we are just two, we can run only the top or only the bottom and save water and time.

Worse dishwasher I ever owned

The door of the dishwasher must be slammed to make it operate, when you slam the door the cheap plastic spacers on the handle break and the pump is making noise after 6 months. The recommended repair business has been out 3 times and the problems still are not fixed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
