I bought this dishwasher in January 2014 and after the first month, the motor crapped out. Luckily it was still under warranty so they replaced it at no charge. It is now July 2015 and I have noticed in the last few months that dishes are not getting very clean. Sometimes we get white powdery streaks on the plates, other times there are food stains remaining on the plates. The layout also doesn't work well; I can't fit a lot of dishes in there.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Never seems to work the same twice. Controls lock up with no way to reset. Three repairs in four months.

Quiet but doesn't dry dishes

Bought this with a new home - we have been pleased with GE products in the past. If you value having your dishes dry at the end of your wash cycle DO NOT get this machine. Regardless of the cycle, amount of jet dry, etc., our dishes still come out dripping wet - not damp, wet. We have tried every trick in the GE 'book'. Wish I would have read more reviews on this before purchasing. However, the wash feature works great and is very quiet!
