New Dishwasher

Just purchased. Had some trouble in the beginning with control panel (kept going to 1H setting when trying to start). Cleared by throwing circuit breaker and waiting for a couple of minutes before turning the power back on. Other than that it seems to work as advertised. VERY quiet compared to the machine it replaced.

We bought this in November but had it installed in January when our cabinets were done. So far, so good. A lot of people do not like GE. Some tried to steer us clear, but I did a lot of research. This model is a new model and has nice features that we wanted. However, I do not think it dries nearly as well as it should, and of course, the cycle is very long (common with most newer brands and models.) But, it cleans very well and our glasses never have streaks. We are happy.

Best Dishwasher I Have Ever Owned

I wanted to wait a month before reviewing to try various modes. I only wash dishes every 4 days when I can fill it. I used to have to prewash, but purposely left all dishes dirty and allowed to dry, including heated and dried cheese stuck to the plate. The dishes always come out clean. The only problem happened when I used the Boost temperature. The screw cap nozzle on a cheap plastic bottle I put on one of the bottle wash post deformed due to the heat. I don't need the boost so not serious. It did not deform with heated dry. The indicator light on the front is really appreciated because I can not hear it running unless I put my ear to the front door; yes my hearing is perfect. The stainless appearance really classes up the kitchen. The interior room is much larger than previous dishwashers.

This dishwasher is worth the money. It is so quite, you don't hear it running. Dishes come out sparkling clean. Did I mention how great it looks? Check it out, you will love it!

We bought this dishwasher to match our set of new GE appliances. We love the look of it and the features, including the "bottle wash" feature. It is so sleek looking and matches all of our new GE appliances, we were thrilled to get it. However, we are planning to return the product because of several issues: 1) There are very few tines on the bottom rack (four rows, compared to seven rows in our previous dishwasher), and they are configured so that you must put the dishes in a certain direction (our previous dishwasher just had straight tines that allowed much more flexibility). It works fine for plates but we struggle every time we try to load the dishwasher to put in cereal bowls, glass/pyrex containers, and serving bowls. Even with the adjustable tines, they do not fit properly, and we feel we have 1/3 less capacity than our old washer. I see other brands on the market all have many more tines to allow more items to stay in place; 2) On the top rack, glasses slide around and also don't stay in place since the bottom of the rack is smooth, rather than having bumped out rows to hold the glasses in place. We love the look of the dishwasher - but we are frustrated every time we try to load it and feel we don't get the capacity out of it that we would get from other dishwashers.

THE REASON I RATED THIS DISHWASHER AVERAGE IS BECAUSE THREE DAYS AFTER INSTALLATION, I NOTICED MY WOOD FLOORS BUCKLING UP. MY HUSBAND TOOK THE KICK PLATE OFF AND NOTICED THAT THE WATER CONNECTION WAS NOT PUT ON PROPERLY. PLUS EVERYTHING IS MADE OF PLASTIC NOW WHICH FOR THE PRICE OF THIS MACHINE I FOUND THAT TO BE A LITTLE SURPRISING. ADDITIONALLY, FOR THE PRICE, I WOULD THINK THAT THERE WOULD BE A WATER ALARM IN THIS PRICE LEVEL OF MACHINE. IT DOES DO A GOOD JOB OF CLEANING THE DISHES THOUGH.
