My last dishwasher was one of those two-drawer, very expensive models from another manufacturer. I hated it because each drawer held very few items, it was difficult to load, and it didn't even clean my dishes very well. This GE dishwasher is wonderful; it loads easily, holds a ton of dirty dishes and pots, and cleans beautifully. The slate-colored exterior doesn't show fingerprints. My only complaint is that it makes a few humming sounds as it does its job, which bothers my sensitive husband if we are working in the kitchen. ( I don't really hear it at all.) I also wish it showed how much time is left in a wash cycle. But other than these two minor complaints, I love it.

Incredibly Disappointed

Immediately we thought there was something wrong with this dishwasher. It took 4-5 hours to complete a wash cycle and then when done the dishes weren't even dry. And to top it off the dishes were still dirty! We usually have to run two cycles to clean our dishes. We had a GE technician come out to look at the dishwasher and we were told that it is working as designed. Seems that the new dishwashers are such high efficiency and only use about 3 gallons of water for the cycle (not enough to clean them evidently). Also, since this model does not have the stainless steel inside it cannot reach a high enough temperature to dry the dishes. Wish I had my 15 year old dishwasher back. I guess new is not always better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the quiet running, and the thorough job of cleaning. Also love the way it looks. I'm looking forward to replacing my oven and refrigerator with the same line. They really add serenity and elegance to a kitchen.

It is SO quiet!!

This is just day two of owning this great new dishwasher. And, I am really pleased. The ancient one it replaced could be heard 5 rooms away; this one is quiet even in the tile/granite/wood cabinet kitchen. Dang! Oh, it cleans better then the old one did, too.
