A disappointment

We purchased this dishwasher in May 2014. Everything about it is just a little "less" than the dishwasher we replaced, which was a very basic model. The racks for silverware are not very high quality, but that is not a big issue. It does NOT dry the dishes. We referred to our manual and have employed every suggestion made regarding the settings when dishes are not drying. We even have tried waiting a couple of hours after the cycle has completed and, when the door is opened, water is dripping everywhere. We were so happy to find this slate color that I guess we didn't worry enough about functioning. It is a disappointment.

Love the exterior!

I have had this dishwasher for 6 months now and just love it. I previously owned a GE and decided to get another one. I was looking at stainless steel and then the store clerk showed me the slate and I fell in love with it. It doesn't show fingerprints or anything. It washes my dishes really well. Once in a great while I may have a load that doesn't come very clean but that is when I have usually overloaded the dishwasher, otherwise it washes great. Lots of room inside and love the tall tub. Love the stainless interior also. When I go to replace my refrigerator and stove I will definitely be buying the slate exterior.

Can't Use Gel Pods

The installers told me not to use any pods or packets of detergent. I tried the one that came with the machine and it didn't desolve.

Limited choices to match our slate appliances

Settled on slate color for our appliances which limits the choices. All the other units (fridge, range, microwave) are solid and meet our needs. But the dishwasher is something we had to accept not getting what we wanted. Cycle time is long, and it is a bit on the noisy side. Drying is not the best.

We bought all the slate GE appliances for our kitchen remodel. Refrig, stove, microwave and dishwasher. This dishwasher doesn't clean dishes well at all. Silverware never gets clean. Motor completely failed after two years.
