I've only had this shaver for 2 months and already the blades seem dull. It takes way too long to get a close shave going over the same area over and over and over.... again
It is a very precision razor shaves very smooth an no face irritation better then any of the other ones i have owned great improvements in all around shaving. Have used this brand for many years.
Initially it was a bit rough and would catch or burn unless I was very careful. Eventually learned it was no good after a shower. Later, after my skin had apparently dried more, it worked like a charm. Part of the problem may have also been my not shaving every day. The shorter the whiskers, the smoother it went.
After 50+ years of shaving with a blade, I finally got tired enough of the time and mess to try an electric razor. I chose the Norelco based on the reviews, the ease of cleaning, the floating heads, and that it wasn't made in China. While it doesn't shave as close as I was used to, it's close enough. Surprisingly, I didn't experience any razor burn, so it was a good trade off vs. closeness. The shape of the shaver looks awkward, but the ergonomics are excellent. Overall, I'm glad I switched to a Norelco.
I've had several of these shavers. The next model is always a little better than the older one. This was true with this one. It cleans better. It's quieter. The shave is closer. And it wants to do all of that.
Pros: the machine wants to work for me.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Let me start by saying I have never been a fan of electric razors. Overall I am a fan of this one so far though. I found the first couple uses caused serious razor burn on my neck that lasted a few days and resulted in some discomfort. I found that continued use once the irritation went around built up some tolerance and my skin gets less irritated after each use. The razor itself is excellent when shaving the face and mustache area. Far easy and more efficient than a disposable razor. The side burn trimmer is nothing to write home about and it is a little difficult managing that portion of the shave but all in all I am a fan thus far of the Philips Norelco Series 3000 Shaver 3100.
I bought this because the store also carried replacement heads in stock. It seems to work easy and faster than anything I've recently owned. So far I would say it's a good buy. I bought a lower cost model, they take the same replacement heads as the expensive models.
