I have a autistic adult who uses this razor, it is the best electric razor. He can hold it with no problems. It has a very close shave and is comfortable. I highly recommend this razor. If you clean it on a regular basis it will last years. Thank you Philip for making an awesome product and a mom's life easier.
The battery life is excellent. Very close shave & easy to handle. Easy to maintain & clean. Thanks!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have always used the Phillips norelco shaver since I started shaving and have tried many shavers over the years, having always gone back to the norelco every time. It is reliable, dependable, affordable and gives me the best, close shave of any shaver on the market. The best deal for my money.
Pros: close shave, good price
Cons: none

Bottom line is that it does a good job at a fair value.

I received this item for free in exchange for a fair and unbiased review of my personal experience using the product for 1-2 weeks. Overall, I believe this to be a good entry level electric razor.
First Impressions:
Packaging - Professional, attractive, show all the features of the model at a glance.
Un-Boxing - reasonable. Not sure why it says to cut along the line of the shaver clam shell as mine easily pulled apart?
Unit is a good size, feels good in the hand. Looks good. We will see how comfortable it is to hold while shaving vs. my current electric linear shaver.
Literally only comes with a power cord and cover for the cutters. Cutter cover has holes or vents in it?
Battery was completely dead. No biggie, unwound the power cord and plugged it in...
Do not like the cord whatsoever. Stiff, has no keeper to manage it so it looks messy on the counter. My existing shaver has a coiled cord that looks much nicer and is more manageable.
Wheres the dust/travel bag? Even the Philips trimmer I bought has one... I do not like to just throw my shaver in with all my toiletries in my shave kit without it being in it's own bag.
I like that you can wash it under the faucet - how will that compare to using the Braun cleaning dock with "smart clean" solution? Can the heads stay clean enough for me?
Price - good for what you are getting however according to the website this is the second best in the series. I would expect more then.
Replacement Heads? I tried to look up the replacement heads for this shaver. Similar ones from Philips are almost as much as this shaver itself and Philips is recommending yearly replacement. Almost seems like you can just throw it away and get another then at that point. Also, googling or amazon for the recommended replacement model head did not come up with any buying options for "SH30 shaver head" so I would be confused as what to buy. Even Philips.com/store came up with no results for "sh30". (side note: I have my current shaver over 10 years, replace the cutter and foil maybe every 2 years)
Registration form: additional 6 months is no incentive to register. Should at least have additional coupons or savings on the replacement heads or something.
How will it perform in comparison to my Braun Linear cutting shaver? According to the manual, I need at least a month of shaving to truly find out! But I will give it at least a week.
The Shaving Experience:
I guess I am used to the almost rectangular shape of my old shaver - It just seems more controllable than the Philips which really fills my hand. Power button is conveniently located and easy on/off.
The initial shave definitely took longer than my old linear shaver. It felt like I had to spend extra time to get the same quality of shave. Also, w/ the 3 shaving head layout it's very tricky to get a nice line around a goatee. It's really hard to see if you are shaving right up to your line and to get a straight line. Will definitely take some practice to get used to.
After over a week of shaving, I still was not satisfied that I was getting as good a shave as with my old shaver. It still was a decent shave but simply took more time and passes to get the same result.
Conclusion:
Battery Life was great: Didn't have to recharge for the whole week of shaving and it seems like it did not diminish in power.
Quality of Shave: Decent but for my beard type, it seems like a linear cutter block does better. If you are switching from a manual safety razor you may not notice.
Cleaning: Rinsing under the sink works well but I felt like I had to leave the shave head open to dry out and it takes up counter space like that - combined w/ the stiff, non-coiled charging cord makes for a messy look in my otherwise orderly bathroom. Definitely didn't seem as fresh and sanitary as using a "smart" cleaning solution in a "dock" either. However I would say that it's better to be able to clean with water than just a brush.
Overall Experience: I believe this would be a good starting point to foray into the powered shaver experience. It is an affordable unit that seems to be of quality build and would hold up well until you stepped up to a fancier unit. Had I not been using the linear shaver w/ smart clean already for years, I may have been more impressed. Bottom line is that it does a good job at a fair value.
I have had Norelco shavers for many years and have always had good luck with them. The last one I bought was no exception. The only thing negative is that I didn't get a cleaning brush with the shaver so am using the brush from my old shaver. Other than that it performs as it should.
