I purchased two HP 2711x monitors to replace a pair of HP w2558hc monitors. These 27" monitors are not much bigger (shorter and a little wider, but not significant). The clarity and color on the HP 2711x monitors are horrible. Very bland/washed-out look. The darker colors and blacks look good, but anything with a light gray or pastel color is very washed out. Guess I was spoiled with the w2588hc monitors. Also, the lack of speakers in these new LCD monitors is a negative.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Had it about a week, love it so far. Not a fan of the glossy case, and the screen
has a lot of glare, but the resolution,contrast etc. very nice. Now I have to get
my new cpu with better video card hooked to reaaly see how it works

Good monitor, no bells and whistles just monitor, no usb ports, nothing special, good text rendering which is what I use most of the time, no rotation, kind of a bummer, as my 21" from hp does rotate, makes great for reading .doc, and .pfd's.

A great monitor

This is the best monitor I've ever had. I was a little put off by the shiny glass-like screen but I don't notice that any more. What I notice is the clear images that are so sharp.
This monitor is easy to set up and start using. You don't even need a srew driver. The one bolt has a tab you can pull up and use to screw it in. I was kinda disappointed because I do love to get all my tools out and put them to use now and then.
The fact that this monitor has no mercury or arsnic in it gives me peace of mind, not just for my own safety but the earth's in general. I didn't even know that some monitors have arsnic in the screen material until I checked out this monitor. Thank you HP

From order to delivery to setup, we are highly pleased. The quality of the image is excellent: color, brightness, sharpness, text, and contrast. My vision is no longer what it used to be when I was younger. This monitor has completely fulfilled my needs so that I can keep working, writing, and analyzing statistical data. I have no problem in giving this purchase my highest recommendation.
