Bright and sharp

My new HP 2711x WLED monitor knocks my eyes out. I love it. I just ordered a similar smaller monitor to fit my wife's work desk.
My only reservation is that the provided DVI cable is not compatible with the seven-year-old DVI connection on my HP Workstation XW4100 with the Nvidia Q4 200 NVS AGP video board. Until I can purchase an adaptor or a compatible cable, I am running the VGA interface with good results.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Beautiful color and low power usage. I like it especially for gaming and viewing photos. It is one of the best bargains of all the monitors I evaluated.

I bought the 27 inch monitor to expand my HP laptop. Great picture and love it. First time I ever purchased a monitor as an add-on. Really glad I bought it. Thank you HP for a great monitor.

Quality Control Issue

The DVI connector was not installed properly, preventing my connector from mating to it. I had to remove the factory mounting screw and reinstall it to allow proper use.

Very pleased with the purchase, have the monitor for the one month now, monitor is very sharp, bright, very saturated pleasant LED backlight whites, no ghosting, very crisp text, colors are very saturated and vivid, when watching movies can see dark-scenes (grey shadows against black background), monitor does a good job showing the subtle grey shades. Had very easy software install on my Windows 7 64-bit edition. Overall - perfect for my needs. I also got 3 years Next Business Day Exchange warranty on it just in case, as I think I will keep it for a while. Highly recommend.

Monitor looks great, weak on features

This monitor has a really great picture. I now use it as my primary monitor, along side my HP 2401 monitor. Side by side, the 2711 has a better picture. However, the 2401 has more features, such as USB ports. Also, the power switch is easier to get to on the 2401. Another nice feature of the 2401 is that the monitor base is shaped like a tray. It's nice because I can put pens and other desktop "things" there. The 2711's base is rounded and won't hold anything. Like I said though, the 2711 has better picture quality (maybe because of the LED backlighting) and that is the most important feature. Fortunately for me, I have both. I am not sure I would be as happy with the 2711 if I didn't have the 2401 sitting next to it.

The colors are fantastic on this monitor. The big screen area certainly reduces eye strain compared to my old 19" monitor. You won't go wrong with the purchase of this monitor.
