Quiet, Efficient, Convenient.

I am so glad I have the "Load and Go" feature on this washing machine - it makes doing laundry go faster and It makes it easier for my teenage son to do his own laundry! The "Sanitize" feature on the washer and dryer have alleviated my husband's allergies so much that he is not snoring as much at night!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great looking product but function not there

This product was purchased as a set with the dryer, I highly recommend the dryer as its performance is amazing.The washer has a very large capacity - it is nice to wash one load of towels instead of 3 - 4. The display is clear and easy to follow, the dial spins easily, the detergent dispenser is great as it only needs to be filled every few weeks, and display options are easy to select using the buttons. Another great feature is the option to change the type of detergent so the washer does not use too much.However...I am not pleased that the feet on the bottom of the washer cannot be adjusted, and that bulky items still have soap and soap residue still remains in the washer. Not too mention the majority of the water is not removed from the bulky items (such as bath mats). I also do not like that using the quick setting it is not possible to only wash one item, like a pair of jeans. Other pieces must be added like t-shirts or a few towels or the load does not balance itself and the cycle will never complete. Sometimes soap is still in the washer.I do wonder if the affresh works as it not a powder that is rinsed around the washer but a dissolving tablet that takes the complete cycle to dissolve; with all of the water being emptied and added it does not seem as though the washer is thoroughly cleaned.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This washer has it all!!

This washer is wonderful. I replaced a 12 year old Duet model. I was happy about owning that model, however I am super happy, absolutely ecstatic, with this model. It spins faster than my old model. The clothes come out very dry. I am very happy with the results. The pleasant musical tunes are icing on the cake

My first front loader

I can't comment on this as a front loader--my first. It does clean clothes well, but takes more time than a top loader. Occasionally, water will leak out the front of the door. This seems to happen when there is an item in there that is water resistant (like a rain jacket). I believe the water sprays on it and bounces off the the front door where it runs out. Otherwise, it has been reliable for 3 months. There are many features to adjust your cleaning specifications. Of course, it looks great.

Great looking machine, but a little short of substance

I love the look of this machine and would probably buy it again if given a choice. The features and use are easy to navigate on the touch screen. Overall, I'd recommend it but I wish there were a few changes.First, on medium or high speed spin, this sounds like a jet engine revving up for take-off. It reaches a high pitched whine. It's not "loud" but sure isn't silent like the wash cycles are. I guess it's expected at that speed, but I was surprised.Second: I'm sure it's washing most daily clothes adequately. However, set it stains are a problem. This thing uses hardly any water. The clothes are wet during the cycles- but they soak up nearly every drop. There is no standing water in the bottom of the tub and very little dripping around. I would think the dirt just cant get 'pulled' out of the clothing without water to carry it away. I wish I could give it another gallon to 'swish' around even to make myself feel like it's doing a better job.

Almost perfect!

This is my fourth set of Duet washer/dryer combos, so I feel qualified to give a trustworthy review. I've followed the increasing quality/features of these Duets, and paid top dollar over and over again for what I thought was state-of-the-art function, only to lament why this or that wasn't included. Well, this washer seems to have fixed all that was wrong with the previous washers.Finally - a liquid detergent function that does not leak if you pour the liquid in for more than a minute before starting the load. Finally - a lighted drum for the washer. Finally - Fanfresh! (hadn't every other manufacturer previously introduced this in their top-end models?) And look - a way to program your own cycles - superb!! Precision dispense (and a way to adjust those settings dependent on your detergent and water hardness level), 1500 RPM extracts, water that goes "mostly" on the clothes, the amazing amount of wash cycles, and the LCD color panel are all amazing and deserved in this top-of-the-line model. Therefore, my quibbles are few - but I do have some.Whirlpool developers must work on a way to get water temperature up to proper temp for each cycle (many people live in places where hot water must run for a while to get hot, and Whirlpool needs some sort of sensor that works for this purpose). Some of the other Duets have "pretended" to have this but none appear to be getting it right. This is especially important for the cleaning (Affresh) cycle. Also, continue on getting more of water out the spout to pour directly on the clothes - too much water still pours onto the seal and/or the inside of the door.Also, the end-of-cycle "buzzer" is hardly a buzzer, and I ask for a return to (or at least an option for) something more brash and less melodic to signify that I need to get up and empty the washer.Is there a way we can make water draining quieter? It is still quite noisy. Also, the ability to program more than 7 custom cycles would be appreciated (I hit this limit the first day, when I washed everything I owned).Finally a way to upgrade functionality or screen colors/themes via USB (or some sort of connectivity) is needed at this point (other manufacturers have this capability).Other than these minor quibbles, Whirlpool really nailed it with this washer. If you're sitting on the fence about getting one, don't. You will not regret it. Just read the manual first, run clean cycles regularly, DON'T USE NON-HE DETERGENT, and leave the door open after every wash. They've really come a long way with these Duets since the 9100s and those belt-driven nightmares! Can' t wait to see what you do for Duet's 10th anniversary!
