Great Printer/Fax/Scanner!

I love this printer/fax/scanner! I've owned mine for over two years and I am constantly impressed with the functionality and quality of the print and scans! The printer is also reasonably frugal on the ink with excellent results.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is our main office printer (small office). The print quality is good, doesn't go through ink as fast as the previous printer, and it prints pretty fast on draft B & W. Occasionally has a jam but not too extreme. I got this machine to scan patient charts into our database but in hindsight did not shop correctly for this feature. Although it does do duplex two sided printing/scanning, it takes two "swipes" to do it. Takes way too long to be effective for what I need it for.
The reason I knocked a star off is that ink will leak or bleed onto a printed page sometimes and ink will then get on other pages and your hands, sometimes your clothes - a bit frustrating.

So far this is the best printer I have ever purchased. The WF840 is fast, provides readable output and duplexes. That is a super deal. I highly recommend the Work Force Series for anyone that need great output, both quickly and in high quantity.

Incompatible; drivers won't install

Printer suddenly stopped working and the drivers from Epson's CD and Epson's website will not install on my Windows 7 system. I have gotten messages that the drivers cannot be installed, that they are incompatible with Win 7, access denied and much more. I have spent DAYS trying to resolve the issue, including fixing compatibility issues, installing with a USB cable and as a wireless printer. Sometimes the scanner driver installs but never the printer driver. Epson's support website is useless, as is the printer since I can't install the drivers!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

DRY INK Heads

Works very well when used several times per week. If not used for more than a week or so, the heads need to be cleaned again, and again.

CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT!!

This is my second Workforce. I got this one for the wireless capabilities. I've had the Workforce 840 for almost 3 years and it still works great! The ink lasts long too. I love the double paper trays as when I'm not printing close to the printer and the first tray is out, it will pick up paper from the second tray. I love the ability to scan my documents straight to the jump drive without my computer being on. I can't live without this printer. It also makes a great phone charger with the USB on the front. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!
