After many years of struggling with different all-in-ones and different brands, I decided to give this one a try. I use it for my small home business so I needed all of the features that this unit provided. I've had it for a month now and it is the best one I've ever had. The setup was super-easy and fast, had no problem with drivers or communication with my computers and the quality has been outstanding. Highly recommend this product.

my old but trusty Epson stylus photo printer died after 6 yrs of fabulous photo's. I read the reviews on the workforce 840 and thought it was the printer for me. However it has been very difficult trying to get the wifi to work. Look forward to the day when it does, and I can finely see if the printer is worth anything.

It's fast and has all the gadgets, but I don't like the touch screen. It sometimes takes more than one press to get it to take. I prefer the old fashioned press buttons.

Setup

I purchased the printer this morning. And I'm still trying to set it up. The setup software has a lot to be desired. I am using Windows 7, A Dell XPS 9100 with an i7 processor and the lastest software and it will not do a USB or wireless download install. I have about 3 or 4 hours into the install. And I believe I'm computter literate. I re-installed it twice from the CD and now have another 20 minutes to wait for the web download. I was able to use it via Microsofts Drivers. But the epson software is no good.

Noisy printer

When my printer (from another manufacturer) died due to printhead problems on Monday, I needed another printer fast. We read the reviews and settled on the Epson WorkForce 840. It works well, but it is a LOT noisier than my last printer - so much so that I am considering returning it, even if it means paying a 15% restocking fee. It is fast, and the quality is good, but I'd rather not listen to it.

Great Printer

This is one of the greatest printers I have ever owned. With windows 7 it was a snap to set up. If you want to use a USB cable (which is not included) you might be able to use the one from your old printer. After set up is complete you can change to wireless especially if your computer also has a built in wireless feature. The wireless feature allows me to place the printer anywhere in the room. The two trays saves me from having to get up and putting in a different size paper or envelopes. The only drawback is it makes a loud clunking noisy when it is running, but I can live with that. Over all this is a great printer!

Epson Workforce 840

The printer is very fast and the print quality is great. I have not used the fax. The scanner is slow and quit working - I had to reinstall the software several times to get it working again. The 2 sided printing is very awkward to set up and almost not worth the trouble. Same thing for having 2 paper trays - very awkward to use. Last but not least, I found out that the Epson Store was the cheapest and quickest way to purchase ink.

For the price, this is one great printer. Fast, great features, easy to use and install and wireless. The only thing missing is AirPrint! I know that Epson has an app that allows you to print from your iPhone, but it is not the same. It is a difficult solution to a simple problem. With all the iPhones and iPads of which I own both, why not make this great printer compatible? Cost? Not sure, but what I do know is that this one of the only things missing to make this printer truly remarkable. Just make life easy for us and accept and use this AirPrint standard, please!
