I have had the 840 for printer for almost two years. Its been excellent.
Only suggestions for improvements:
1 ) printing envelopes from documents in MS Word 2010 is cumbersome.
2 ) Color scan speed at 300 dpi is 3o secs +/-
Would like to see that enhanced to 10 to 15 secs.
I do a lot of scanning.
Otherwise, it a great mulitfunction.

I love it it have had the unit for a few years
Easy to operate and troubleshoot yourself
only thing it does eat allot of ink even with the high yield.

fast, good quality and reasonably priced - like the fact that I can use up all the ink before having to replace the cartridge without losing my work
on the negative side, the draft quality setting is so light as to not be of practical use (which means a little higher ink usage) and after a little more than a year of use the touch screen quit working - I can do a work around, but I miss the convenience of that feature for copying and faxing (I would guess that's a rare problem and just my bad luck to have it happen)

Down through the years we have worn out many desktop priters. The Epson Workforce 840 is the best, most versatile, with good speed too.

Printer works well for me plus the ability to scan to email and fax makes this a well appointed machine. I have not used it to its full potential so can only comment on the features I have used.
