New Workforce 840

I bought this printer to replace another brand to which I had been loyal for years. Sadly, their last product I owned was poor on every level.
So far, the Epson is faster on both scans and printing, and is much quieter. Most importantly, it handles paper well.... no jams, etc.
The only thing holding it back from a five star rating is that it does not handle odd sized scans well. It crashed on an 8.5x14 sheet fed scan, which one of my invoices comes in. This may be a setting, but it is not apparent.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not Disappointed !

I was hesitant to buy this printer, because of the cost & not knowing the printer at all. I have not been disappointed at all with the printer/scanner/fax...Often times I just need a quick print and this printer is easy to work with, haven't had any problems. Thanks,

Very good buy

Am very pleased with this printer. The wireless printing is wonderful and installation is fairly easy. Had problems installing this printer on a new laptop with a newer version Windows 7. It required downloading new drivers which usually is not difficult. It seemed a bit complicated this time. However, once the correct drivers were installed, everything worked fine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have purchased a total of 5 of these printers. 3 Have had no problems. They work beautifully performa duplexing no problem @ great. The 4th one came in with a broken scanning bar, the company replaced it as soon as I called. The fifth one, has a problem with paper pickup and continual jams. The user refuses to use it until I get a replacement. Epson, please come through and replace it!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Windows 7 64 bit Drivers

Driver Install Disk did not come with Windows 7 64 bit drivers. Had to go to Epson website. Website was very cluttered. Took a while to sort out what I needed but then they installed normally.

In few words, this is a excellent printer, very easy to setup, great for home office, can connect multiple wireless devise to print to this printer, well worth it for the money. Definately recommend to all.

bad software

The software disk packed with the printer does not work. Updates for it are incompatible. The only way to get a working driver is to go to the Epson support site. If excellence is your goal, ship working software. After downloading the drivers from the epson site which took a long time, the installation took an equally long time. The printer works for now. Installation takes too long.

I just connected the unit yesterday and have only used some of the many capabilities so far. It appears to be user friendly. I anticipate enjoying the quality of the product that unit produces.
