Love the fridge, especially the 2 icemakers. Nice lighting inside makes it easy to find things. I do have a couple of issues:
1) it is not the quietest fridge ever. 2) It comes wrapped in something that is almost impossible to remove. 6 months later, I still have chunks of it visible. All-in-all it's a great improvement over my previous fridge.

Worth Every Penny

We just purchased this product but obviously for the past 50 years of marriage have owned other fridges. This is our first with the freezer on the bottom and it's the best way to go. There is a large drawer in the freezer compartment that will house smaller objects so they are always accessible which opens up the bottom for your meats. I love the French doors for storing long items and the adjustable shelves will fit anything. You can buy this with confidence. I also purchased a gas/convection oven, microwave and dishwasher at the same time. Look for my reviews on those items. I am one lucky lady.

Great Appliance

I rated this a 4 only because if you entertain or drink a lot of beverages that you need ice for, don't buy this unit as it is worthless as far as making ice. Had I known what I do now I would have purchased the unit with the dual ice makers. There might as well not be an ice maker in this unit as the paperwork says it makes about 100 cubes in a 24 hour period. That is being generous.
As for the unit as a whole, it is a sharp looking unit, very spacious and door shelves that accommodate gallon milk jugs. There are lots of shelves and the freezer has plenty of space with both a top and bottom drawer so you won't be stacking things on top of each other and having to move things to hunt for what you want.
One other draw back is the protective wrap used by the factory. They put a protective wrap all over the front of the unit and they put it on before mounting anything to the door so that when the installers bring out your fridge they can not get all of it off. My installer did the best he could but there are still some pieces left that are visible. Any further attempts to get it off might result in damage to the finish.
A lot of reviewers complain about the loud noises and the owners manual that comes with it mentions this. This is the quietest fridge I have ever had. If it weren't for the ice dropping in the bin (when it does) I would not even know it was running.

Love the Slate!

I've been waiting for something better than stainless steel and GE finally made it. I like the slate finish and look. The dispenser is wonderful, this is my first one. My other refrigerator had the freezer on the top and this one we can actually see and find our food, a big improvement. I also like the design of the arch at the top. It gives it a nice look that's not so boxy looking. The freezer is really big and holds a lot. I'm very pleased with it. Another blessing to be thankful for.
The only downside is the handles are still stainless and need to be polished a lot.

Overall a good refrigerator, but the handles are hard to keep clean. The ice maker does not keep up under heavy use.
