The New Slate color is very Sleek!!!

I've been shopping around for a month or so, and I saw the slate color and fell in love. I bought the Refrigerator and the electric Rang stove. Love them both. I have No complaints. The refrigerator is very quiet. That was an important factor for me and my husband.

LOTS OF ROOM

First time to have a French style. Really like the space and ease of access. Only draw back is a very small supply of ice in the door dispenser. They do compensate some with an extra ice maker in the bottom freezer

Love This Fridge!

I bought the line of GE Slate appliances when I remodeled my kitchen, and this refrigerator is my favorite slate appliance. It's quiet. It's VERY roomy. It has fantastic lighting and visibility inside. The freezer on the bottom has a lot of space - more than it seems at first glance. I love the look, and everyone who sees it for the first time comments on how nice it looks. GE hit a home run with this refrigerator. I have nothing negative to say about the refrigerator itself, only that I agree with the others that removing the plastic tape that the refrigerator comes wrapped in is beyond aggravating. (One trick that helped was pulling the tape from the center areas towards the handles and crevices. We actually removed the handles to get at the tape there.) Even after more than a month, I can still see evidence of the tape along the edges, which I guess will remain there forever. There must be a better way to protect and deliver this appliance, especially since none of the other slate appliances were covered in this tape.

We are very happy with this refrigerator. We took the time before buying to read reviews. The negatives were that it is noisy, and it is definitely a louder motor than we've had before, but we've gotten used to it. The only other downside would be the small holder for ice.
It has so much room! Love the bottom freezer, too.

So far so good. I don't hear any noise as noted by others? I do have frost after the first day in the freezer but I think it's because I didn't level the fridge yet. At least I hope?

Big but not roomy

This unit is really large but because of its depth, everything ends up on the very front of the shelves. My water/ice maker is rusting out the front door and the freezer door because of drips. I like the color though - and the lighting.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Appearance

My last fridge was a GE Profile stainless steel. I will never own another stainless
product. The slate has no drawbacks thus far. The interior features are great especially the lighting. The only negative I can think of with this product is the plastic wrapping that covers the exterior prior to shipping is a real pain to remove. Remnants of it remain in every crack and is difficult to remove. Two months later I'm still trying to remove it.
