Simple to install and works great

This is our second Whirlpool icemaker. The first lasted over ten years and worked well. We bought the newest edition of what appeared to be the same model and I installed it myself. It has a couple of new features which only added to its value. It gets consistently steady use throughout the year.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It's not important until you don't have it anymore

I had a previous ice machine from whirlpool given to us as a wedding present in 1989. It travelled with us from Florida to Pennsylvania. It served us well as it lasted 26 YEARS!!! When it finally was on its last legs I had to give it up... I thought that I could live without it and boy was I wrong, I searched for months trying to find a great price and when I finally found it I was so relieved. I love my new ice machine and it is so useful, I fill up my coffee machine and dogs bowls with the ice and it makes for crisp and clear filtered water. I don't know if it was a fluke that I had my first one for so long but I stand by whirlpool products and their dependability . Here's to another 26 years !

Constantly runs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Happy yet concerned, it does make ice pretty fast. Nice sized cubes.Not sure if it's by design but the ice maker seems to be constantly running as if it's not quite cold enough to built up enough ice to fill up and hold it.

Great New Fatures

I bought this ice maker to replace a similar one that had lasted for many years. I was pleased with the first Whirlpool so I bought another one. I was surprised and pleased that the new one has several new features (lighting, scoop placement, fast ice recovery) that I have found very useful.
