Great ice maker

Noisy motor on startup

We are in the process of a large remodeling project, so the ice maker was not installed immediately when we received it. Once our contractor installed it and turned it on, the motor immediately started making loud noises. Our contractor let it run for a short time, but the loud noises continued. He suggested I contact customer support for help.
I have emailed customer support twice for some assistance and to try and find out if the product is in warranty. The first time they answered none of my questions, but sent me documentation on a refrigerator even though I provided the model and serial number of the ice maker.The second email they have not responded to in over a week. I have always used Whirlpool and Kitchenaid products in my home and I still have more items to purchase in the course of our project. They have always been very reliable. I am very disappointed in the product, as well as the lack of help from customer support. Unfortunately, I will definitely have to reconsider my future purchases.

Good Ice Maker - Very Noisy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Makes good ice quickly, but is very noisy. Needs to be away from the main stream of the house, not in a kitchen connected to a great open room floor plan.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This ice maker was shipped to me as a replacement for a Kenmore Elite ice maker I had that broke. I have an American Home Shield Home Warranty Contract. The Whirlpool one has a light inside when the door is opened. My Kenmore didn't have that feature. Nice.
