I moved to the new city and wanted to purchased a new yoga mat. To best the time of yoga practice, I wanted to find one that I feel comfortable using it. I found this Tree of Life Yoga Mat when I was looking through Gaiam web-page. I was so happy because I had seen someone using it in yoga classes and was wishing that I had a pretty yoga mat like this. I love the earthy color and the healing, pretty picture of the tree. It matches the spirit of yoga. It would be better if it comes with a piece of string or something to tie it around the holded mat since I did not buy the bag.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I really love this mat. Note: When you first receive it has an odor, lay it out for a few days to air and you are good to go. Despite the odor the biggest selling point for me was that it doesn't contain Phalates or BPT!

I bought this mat for one of my daughters. She loves it so much that I am purchasing another one for another daughter! All 3 of my daughters love yoga, and this mat works well. It doesn't slip, doesn't stretch out while you're holding poses, as one of our others did, and is very pretty as well.

So this mat isn't one of the really expensive ones I see some people rolling out in my yoga studio but I think it's more beautiful and it defnitely gets the job done just as well. (And I have used more expensive mats). It may have had a bit of a new plastic smell (which I actually like) when I first got it and didn't grip as well as it should, but it broke in after a few uses and is now perfect. I am always happy to be greeted with my this beautiful mat when I begin my practice.

The Tree of Life mat is beautiful and is the perfect platform for any yoga position! It's not too thin and not too cushy . . . it's really just perfect. Lying on the leaves and branches of the "tree" seem to touch something inside my body, like I can actually feel a connection to it (I always lie on the "tree" side of the mat)!
