[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this unit to replace a ten year old one that was simply wearing out. These are fairly expensive, complicated machines that require regular maintenance and cleaning to perform properly. We bought another because we love the quality and quantity of ice these machines produce. Ice from refrigerators doesn't even come close. Once you become accustomed to using this ice every day, you won't want anything else. With this new unit, we can see that KitchenAid has made a number of improvements over the years while retaining the same basic design and we like that.
Pros: ice quality, Convenient Features, Performance, easy to use, Innovative, Design
Cons: Expensive to buy, new water filters hard to find, Regular Maintenance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about a month ago and am very happy with the improvement in quality as opposed to the Kitchen Aid ice maker we purchased in 2007 and replaced with this one. It is a quality machine with a 3 year warranty that makes a huge amount of ice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this ice maker five months ago and it is already broken. The water in the ice maker doesn't freeze and it just spews out water. While the customer service representative was helpful in setting up a service call, I was put on hold twice for a total of a half hour before I could schedule a service call. The technician's window to show up to my house is between 12noon- 5 pm which is ridiculous, however better than other days in which the window was between 8am and 5pm. Not worth the aggravation to buy this product or to deal with Kitchenaid
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
