Top Freezer Choice

All the children have left the nest and it was time to replace the old double door. The 21 cu.ft. Whirlpool fits our needs with space to spare when the Grand Kids visit.

After a serious thunderstorm and loss of electricity, my side-by-side refrigerator/freezer gave up the ghost and could not be repaired. I immediately purchased this top freezer refrigerator and am totally more than satisfied with it!! There is more than enough room in the freezer and the refrigerator is very easily organized. I am so happy!

Disappointed. Fridge is noisier than expected. Water filter hardly lasts a month and we do not have a water issue. Previous fridge filter lasted 4 months easily. The seal for the freezer portion leaks regularly. Have to constantly watch that this is properly closed or huge ice buildup.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great refrigerator. Excellent use of space - plenty of fridge space not like the side-by-side models. Freezer space is nice and wide for pizzas, etc.We got the icemaker version, and it churns out the ice pretty well, no problems.We are a family of 4 who cook from scratch and who entertain moderately frequently, so having a good fridge is really important to us. This one really delivers all the features we want!You have lots of ability to adjust the height of shelves etc as needed, so you should have no problem accommodating your items.The only negatives are: 1. The large deli drawer in the fridge, if you pull it out too far, is prone to falling out. Only if you pull it out too far. Wish there was a slight 'stopper' (that you could still override to pull it out on purpose for cleaning). Not a big deal though, but surprised this issue even exists given the otherwise-stellar design of this fridge-freezer.2. Inability to set freezer temperature independently of fridge temperature. It makes it easier to use, but less practical. I would prefer to set my freezer really low/cold-temp and my fridge average-cold temp, but I don't have the option to do that. Again, surprised this issue even exists, given that our previous Whirlpool model featured independent fridge/freezer settings. Not a deal-breaker or a big problem though.

Sleek and roomy

We have had the refrigerator for two months and it is working perfectly for us. Aside from its good looks, we are surprised that we like the full-length shelves much better than the split-adjustable ones - actually seems more roomy. Only two issues prevent 5 stars: we really wanted interior filtered water like our old fridge, but it is not available on this model (the other stainless top-freezer model that has the filtered water doesn't have a reversible door). Also, we had to obtain a new sliding drawer because the original one kept sliding off the tracks. All things considered, we are very pleased.
