worthless can opener

This has got to be the most worthless can opener that Black and Decker makes. We have a very hard time getting it to penetrate the can, when we try to open a can with it. We have had two other openers that were made by B&D and they worked really well, like all good things they do wear out and have to be replaced , I just wish they still had the older kind that were of some value, this piece of junk has been nothing but trouble since day one. I bought it on line and don't remember from whom, otherwise I would take it back for a refund or replace it with another brand if necessary.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have the C0100B (Black) spacemaker can opener. It works well as I have come to expect from B and D products. The difference between this model and the other Spacemaker under the cabinet can opners from B and D is just the color. This unit replaced an older spacemaker so the mounting holes are located differently. If you have a flat bottom cabinet the unit will mount without problems but if there is an edging around the cabinet you will need to drop it down and bring it forward slightlly so that the opener lever can be raised all the way to remove the cutter assembly for cleaning so be aware of that when installing it. If the unit is installed with the closed door on the opener even with the front surface of the cabinet you won't be able to fully rotate the cutter lever and remove it for cleaning. Since instqallation does require some modification to accomadate cabinet ediging I was only able to rate this unit good, otherwise I would have said excellent.

Great can opener and the knife sharpener works good. So nice not to have a can opener that does not sit on the counter and is out of the way. Reasonable price, too.

Best can opener on the market

I had one for probably 20 years and it finally died. Went without for two years using an expensive stand model. Not happy with that. I like my counter clear, not because I need the space. I found this can opener again 2 years ago and do not want to be without. Decided to purchase another one for back-up. Please do not discontinue. Marketing would get people interested in buying this model.

I purchased this online and realized that it only fits under cabinets with no lip (screw attachment holes are not lined up to mount it so that the release lever can clear the cabinet). Not well thought out by B & D.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I would like to be able to buy this product again. I have had one for years and love it! It keeps my counter clear and gives me a clean sleek look, I have black granite counter and black back splash and this can opener looks so nice.
